My Guardian Angel (A Harry Styles story)

Chapter 11

   I slept through the rest of the day and woke up at 11 on Sunday. I took a shower and got dressed. I put on my favorite skinny jeans, a white T - shirt and as many bracelets as possible to cover yesterday's scars.

   I walked into the kitchen and looked at the calendar. May 4th. Nothing. I picked up the phone and called Jessica, to see if wanted to hang out.

Me- Hello?

Mrs.Jones- Oh hello Alexis. How are you?

Me- I'm fine. Is Jessica there?

Mrs.J- No she's getting ready for a treatment.

Me- What treatment?

Mrs. J- She hasn't told you?

Me- Told me what? What's wrong with Jessica?

Mrs.J- *sighs* Meet me at the hospital in a half hour.

Me- Okay. See you then.

    I hung up. What the hell is wrong with Jessica? I sat down on the couch and texted Ashley.

Me- Hey ash, I need a ride to the hospital ASAP

Ashley- OMG r u ok?

Me- I'm fine, just meeting Mrs.J there...

Ashley- ohh kk I'll be there in 15 minutes

   Jared had just walked out of the bathroom in his basketball shorts. "Morning Jared." I say. He jumps. "Shit yiu scared me. Morning" I laughed. "Hey I'm going out in a few minutes. Just wanted to let you know. " "Ok, just be careful. " " I will." I said.

   Ten minutes passed. My phone rang, it was a text from Ashley.

Ashley- I'm hereee lol

   I grabbed my jacket, and went downstairs. I walked outside and got into the car.

   "Aww!!!!" Ashley said as I got into the car. "What?" "Lexi you're showing! " I looked down at the small baby bump. Until now,  I hadn't really noticed. "Oh yeah. Alright, let's go" I said putting my seat belt on. "Why are you meeting Jessica's mom at the hospital?" "Something with Jessica." "Oh ok."

   The rest of the car ride was quite other than the music on the radio.

    "Call me when you finish! " Ashley said as I got out of the car.  " Okay. " I walked inside and looked for Mrs.J. After a few minutes, I found her in the gift shops.

   "Hey Mrs.J" I said as I walked up to her. "Oh, hi Lexi. Follow me, Jessica is up in the room." We walked out and got in the elevator. We went up to the third floor and started walking towards the room. We walked in,  Jessica was laying in bed reading a book. Mrs.J knocked on the door. "Jess, Alexis came to see you." She looked up from her book. Mrs.J left. I went and sat on the bed. I hugged her. "Jessica, what's going on? Why are you here?" She sighed. She looked so sick. "I guess I should tell you. I got diagnosed with cancer last year. It had gotten better, but it got really bad in February. I was talking to the doctor, and there's a chance I won't make it this time." I started tearing up. "What? Why didn't you tell me?! I'm your best friend! I could have been here supporting you." She looked down at her book. "Look, I didn't tell you because I didn't want to worry you ok? You've been through a lot in this past year too. And now everything that's going on with you and Xavier and the baby, I didn't want to make things worse. " I sat quietly as tears rolled down my cheeks. At that moment, the doctors walked in. I got up and gave her a hug. "Please text or call me when you get the chance, just to let me know your ok." She smiled lightly. "I will." I walked out of the room and got in the elevator. I called Ashley.

Me- Hey ash, I'm finished.

Ashley- Okay, I'm on my way.

  I hung up. So many things were going through my mind all at once. I wiped away the tears and walked outside. Just at that moment, Ashley pulled up. She handed me a bag of McDonald's as I got in. "I freaking love you." I said, trying to smile. She laughed. "Alright, let's go to your place" She said and started driving.

I'm so freaking sorry! I haven't updated in two months! I've just been really distracted lately, but I promise I'll try to update more often.
