Three of you are having a great time talking and catching up about each other. Accompanied by the fresh flower scent, the warm sun rays, and sometimes a laugh whenever there's a funny story. You feel like the time stopped ticking at that moment, until the door bell rings again. Your attention instantly changed to the customer who stepped inside the shop.
You quickly stand up and excuse yourself to them. But Taehyung also stands up, "Are you sure you don't need my help?" You nodded with an assuring smile to him before leaving them. Taehyung sits back down as he watches your back slowly walks to the customer.
"So Tae, how is it feel working in here?" Jimin pulls his chair closer in excitement to hear him. But there's no respond from his friend. Curiously, Jimin follows his gaze and soon notice where it lands.
Wait..ishe..? Jimin looks back to Taehyung and to you again. Slowly a grin formed on his plump lips.
He clears his throat, "Hey, am I really talking to a statue?" He speaks a little louder to catch his attention. Luckily, it works. Taehyung hummed in response as he turned to him. "Why aren't you listening?" Jimin raise an eyebrow, still with the same grin on his face
"Ah I'm sorry, what were you saying?" Taehyung smiled sheepishly.
"What do you think about Sunny?" Jimin purposely changed the question as it suddenly pass his mind when he catches what Taehyung is staring. Taehyung felt his chest squeezed when he hears her name. For a second, he looked at Jimin blankly before he finally answer him. "She's...nice." Once again, Taehyung stares at you who is busily choosing the flowers. "Really? That's all?" Jimin asked in disbelief. He's actually disappointed by his own thoughts that comes out earlier.
"Well she's very friendly and warm. I realised she smiles a lot. Makes me wonder if she's always that happy just like how her smile radiates?" His last sentence left jimin in surprised. He didn't expect him to think that far about someone. It's just not his thing
"Well, we wouldn't know. But honestly, that's what I like about her. She's always positive no matter what. It makes me happy during my gloomy days back then." he uttered in a quiet voice, in case you might hear him. Taehyung turned to him, not even going to argue with it because he also agrees but then he remembers something.
Oh right, Jimin used to like her..or is it...until now? The thoughts of it suddenly makes Taehyung feeling uneasy. After a few seconds of silence, Taehyung finally decided to ask him because his instinct told him so. But just when he was about to say it, you cutted him off.
"What were you guys talking about?" You approach them as the customer earlier left the shop. Taehyung froze in shock because he didn't expect you to come at that moment. Thankfully, Jimin is there to safe him. "Nah, we're just talking about Japan" Jimin smiled innocently. Clearly he's lying but anyone could believe his smile. "Oh right, how was the food there?" You drag a chair closer before taking a seat on it.
"It's very tasty." he replied with a nod, showing how much he approved the food there. "Wish I could go there one day" you sighed as you imagine the delicious food in there and the great places. Just like how people would imagine things, you rested your chin on your palms, making Taehyung slightly smiles.
"Don't worry, I'll take you there with me one day" Jimin winked, making her giggled by his statement. But at the same time, Taehyung felt his heart drop. Jimin glance to see his reaction, and just as he thought. The smile is no longer there.
So it is possible..that he still likes her.
Taehyung sighed heavily and looked down to his fingers under the table. A scene of them laughing and go to Japan together starts sneaking inside his mind. Making him lost in his own thoughts.
"So, starting tomorrow, I'll join you guys here, is that okay?" Jimin said it like a little kid asking to join in, you giggles and nodded at him as a 'yes'.
Yes, that'sright. He'sbeenhereforherlongerthanIam. I'mjustnothingforher. He then nodded too with a thin smile. Although low key he feels sad, because tomorrow will never be the same again.
