The Promise

(Hando POV)
I was in my Anbu gear when I asked Kushina curiously, "What's on your mind, Lady Namikaze?". She asked irritably, "How many times have I told you to call me Kushina, Demon?". I said, "Too many to count, but you didn't answer my question.". She sighed, and said, "I just feel like something might happen tonight. I don't know what it is, but I just feel like something might happen.". I said, "Perhaps you're just being paranoid, Kushina. If someone tried to do anything against you, they'd have to have a death wish.". She said softly, "Maybe you're right, Demon. I'm probably just being paranoid. How are your brothers?". I smiled behind my mask, and said, "They're doing well. Mom might be thinking of coming back from the dead to kick my ass for leaving them with Anko, and Kurenai though.".
  Kushina said defensively, "Hey, they aren't that bad!". I said, "After two bad relationships, Kurenai thinks all men want sex, and is probably calling my little brothers 'perverts in the making', and Anko may just be the second most sadistic woman I know.". She sighed before asking, "Then why didn't you ask Hana to watch them? You know she wouldn't have minded.". I said, "I didn't want to put more stress on her. She's been working hard at the vet clinic, and I didn't want her to have look after both her patients, and my little brothers.". Kushina sighed softly before asking me curiously, "You do know she likes you right?". I said, "Yeah, I know she does, and I was planning to ask her out once my shift ended.". She said teasingly, "I knew you liked her! She's gonna be so happy that her crush is gonna ask her out!". I threatened half heartedly, "Don't make me play that song you absolutely despise, Lady Namikaze.". She practically hissed at me, and said with a pout, "You're such a meanie, Demon! Just wait until Minato hears about this!". As if on cue, Lord Hokage walked into the room, and asked curiously, "Hear about what?". Kushina said, "Demon threatened to play that stupid annoying song of yours, just because I said that Hana would be happy that he's gonna ask her out!". Lord Hokage asked me, "Is that true, Demon?". I said, "Yes, and I'll carry out my threat if she keeps trying to tease me.". Lord Hokage told Kushina, "Now Kushina, you know better than to antagonize Demon. Demon, you shouldn't threaten her just because she annoys you.". I huffed, and looked away from them. Just then, another person entered the room. I knew who it was by their scent, Hana Inuzuka, and her ninken partners, the Haimaru triplets. I also smelled that she had my little brothers with her. She said, "Hi Kushina-sensei, Lord Hokage, Demon.". I looked at Hana, and said, "Hi Hana.". Her ninken came up to me, and I pet them. Hana asked me with an all too innocent smile, "Demon, mind explaining why you thought it was a good idea to leave your month old baby brothers with Anko, and Kurenai?". I said, "I didn't want to put anymore stress on you than you already had. With you working as hard as you are at the clinic, I didn't want to make you split your concentration on your patients, and my brothers.". She sighed, and said, "It would've been worth it, Demon. Besides, I wouldn't have dressed them up in girly clothing like Kurenai was doing.". My eye twitched at the mention of what the woman had done to my brothers. I checked the time, and wouldn't you know it, it was time for me to get off work. I said, "I'll be right back.". Everyone nodded, and I disappeared into the shadows, and I went to change clothes.
