Erwin POV
It's been a long day and I'm just walking around the barracks, occasionally seeing other scouts, but we just nodded at each other and not having a conversation. I eventually got up to the roof, so I sat on the edge and hummed while taking out a old photo of from when I first joined the scouts, of me and my old, lost friend. I never noticed someone else was there until I heard a familiar voice behind me. I put the photo away and turned around seeing Eren accompanied with Mikasa and Armin as per usual.
3ed person POV
Erwin looked at them "what did you say I didn't hear you sorry" Eren nodded before repeating himself "who's that in the photo?" Erwin nodded before answering "a old friend" "where are they now?" "Gone..." Eren fell silent just staring at Erwin before mumbling an apology. Mikasa a bit curious decided to ask "what happened?" Armin said after her "you don't have to explain it to us if you don't feel like it" Erwin smiled at them before loosening up a bit "don't worry I don't mind talking about him to me he's a hero"
(Flash back while Erwin explains it to them)
It's the middle of the day early afternoon almost. Erwin and (Y/N) were sitting on the roof of the barracks talking and laughing "hey Erwin what's your dream or goal?" "Come on you already know and don't say you forgot cause I told you yesterday too!" "Please I'll by you lunch!" "Alright but you better keep your promise. I wanna be Captain of the scouts! Now tell me yours since I told you mine one hundred times." "Alright my goal is to stay by your side until the very end!" The two laughed until their sides hurt. They calmed down and after a few seconds (Y/N) looked over at Erwin "can I tell you another dream?" "Alright but don't expect another one from me!" "Don't worry I won't. Anyways the other dream is-" before (Y/N) could finish his dream a voice yelled from the window saying that the scouts are getting ready to head out. (Y/N) looked at Erwin and quickly said "wanna know now or when we get back?" Erwin thought for a couple of seconds "when we get back so it's a surprise" they both nodded at each other and climes off the roof and through the window and went to get ready. Hours later it was all a mess as the Titans swarmed the scouts unexpectedly. (Y/N) and Erwin were trying their best to kill the the Titans as quickly as possible. As they finished and landed on the ground (Y/N) turned to Erwin and grinned exclaiming as excited as he could be "man this adrenaline rush feels amazing! And this is so interesting too with all the Titans dying around us!" Erwin looked at him confused and slowly nodded questioning his friends words. (Y/N) took a few steps closer and held up a hand for a high five and Erwin high fives him cause it's the right thing to do. (Y/N) looked up and seen a giant hand coming down on them and on reflex he threw Erwin out of the way "Erwin run!" Erwin stared as his friend stood the surrounded by a sliced up Titan hand. (Y/N) looked at Erwin a bit annoyed "Erwin run you dumbass! I'll catch up and come back just run!"
(Back to present)
3ed person POV
"And I never seen him again, and that's what happened.... I still wonder what his dream was" Erwin looked up at the 3 and they were sitting there with looks of simpathy on their faces "wow Captain are you okay?" They stared at Erwin who had tears in his eyes "I'm fine" the three people in front of him got up and tried to come up with an apology and excuse to leave and they left as Erwin turned around and looked up at the sky.

Finally I'm at wall Rose man this will be one hell of a clime.
Erwin POV
It was early in the morning and I was walking along the wall and seen someone pull themselves up from the other side of the wall wearing a old, ruined, and stained scouts uniform. They had dirty semi long (H/C) hair. Their dull (E/C) eyes looked at me with a serious, but non-threatening look. I took out a sword and pointed it at them "who are you and how the hell did you clime the wall?" The got up and walked to me slowly to the point they were at the end of my sword. "My name is (Y/N) and I just did it." I froze..... It's him..... After so many years it's really him...... I just hugged him and I noticed he had tensed up bit he slowly hugged back "damn I really missed human contact..... Wait who are you?" I let go and backed up just smiling "here is a hint I completed my goal while you tried to keep your promise" after a minute his eyes light up with pure joy and I was squeezed in a tight hug "oh my god Erwin!" I hugged back tight as possible and he looked me in the eyes "I'm so sorry I took so long I was busy trying to stay alive. I missed you so much" I nodded at me let go of each other and smiled.
(Time skip a few weeks)
3ed person POV
Erwin and (Y/N) were on the roof talking and laughing before (Y/N) snapped his fingers and smiled "oh yeah now that I'm back and we are both here I can tell you my goal!" "Yeah I've been dying to know!" (Y/N) looked away a little blush on his face "well you see I had a goal to...... kissyoubeforeyournextbirthday!"Erwin sat there for a couple of seconds before going bright red and looking away "o-oh well wanna f-fulfil that goal n-now?" They were both looking away from each other bright red before (Y/N) gathered his courage and put his hand on the side of Erwins face and leaning in closes and when Erwin finally looked over (Y/N) connected their lips in a sweet kiss. Erwin kissed back after a few seconds but they were interrupted by a voice "wow Erwin I didn't know you had a boyfriend" the two quickly pulled apart and looked over at Levi and Eren behind him holding back words and laughter.
Needles to say the two were chased off by Erwin and the two got back to what they were doing.
