Author POV

Yooseon worried the woman who kept coughing non-stop.

"Are you parched? Would you like anything to drink?"

"Yes. I'd like warm water." the woman answered.

Yooseon soon went out of the woman's room to fetch a drink for her. Just as she was on her way she stopped when she heard someone shouting to the people to make way.

A group of nurses were pushing a stretcher with an unconscious girl lying on it; on their way towards the emergency room.

Yooseon stole a quick glance at the girl's face. Something about her made her feel sentimental. She got curious and followed the group of nurses.

'What am I doing?' she thought and shook her head. She was just about to turn back but somehow she still felt curious about the girl.

"Excuse me, do you know the patient who just got into the emergency room?" she asked the nurse at the desk nearby.

"I'm not so sure but I'll tell you when I know it." Yooseon thanked her and left.

"Miss Jung Yooseon." the nurse called out.

Yooseon stood up from her seat.

"I've found out who the girl was. Her name is Jung Soojung. 16 years old. Daughter of Jung Dongjoo and Lee Yerim. She just got into a major car accident this morning along with her parents but apparently she was the only one who had the luck. She has a severe injury on her head so she may be diagnosed with amnesia." Yooseon just nodded at what the nurse just said.

"She has no other family members or relatives as both of her parents were an only child in their family. So it means she's alone for now until someone would be willing to take care of her." The nurse sighed.

All her pity fell towards this girl. A thought hit her that she should visit this girl.

"I'd like to visit her please."

Yooseon POV

I went inside the room to see the girl still lying unconscious on her bed. I went up to her and sat on the empty chair beside the bed.

I gaze upon her pale face. No wonder why she seems so familiar. Her facial details remind me of my own daughter.

"Jung Soojung." I mutter her name; smiling while caressing her soft brown hair.

Whenever I look at her I feel sentimental as it made me feel that Sooyeon was still alive. I miss her.

"Pity this girl. She won't remember anything at all when she wakes up. Not even her parents or her past life." A deep voice spoke which happens to belongs to the doctor which was one of my friends.

"What are you doing with her?" he asked.

"I'm just visiting Dr. Kim."

"She reminded you of Sooyeon doesn't she?"

"Apparently ..." I sighed.

"I know you miss her." I nodded.

~

I kept visiting her everyday ever since. Who knows when she will wake up. Someone has to be beside when she does.

I sat down on the chair and started talking to her. Giving some words of courage because she's still fighting in there and I know she is a strong one.

I wonder what will happen when she wakes up. Where will she end up? The orphanage? I don't think she should refresh her memories by being an orphan. I'm sure she wouldn't want to think that her past life was filled with despair.

Maybe I should adopt her. Make her think that I was her parent all along so she wouldn't have to worry. Maybe it would be a good idea. I should make her into someone new. Change her name and such.

I told the Dr. Kim about my thoughts about adopting Soojung.

"As selfish as it might sound but I think I should take this girl as my daughter. Although I have to lie about everything. Even my identity as her real mother. However I have to find a way to get my husband's agreement first."

"I don't know but maybe it'll work because I don't think she will regain her memories soon enough because of the severe brain damaged that caused her. It's a miracle she gets to survive so it wouldn't be fair for her to live a pitiful life."

"But it is also a sin to have her living a life full with lies. I don't know why I'm willing to give her all the happiness because there are many people like her out there. I don't know..."

"But what you're doing is good. Both for you and her. You get to live happily like you did before and she will too. I'm sure of it."

I breathed out several sighs , still thinking if it were a good idea or not but in the end I thought it was for the best.
