It was many months later. My acting career was going OK with a few jobs on TV shows. The film I had done with Hugh hadn't done very well, so I was happy with what I had. I read that in the end Hugh had cancelled that film he had been talking about due to „personal reasons". I hope it was due to the fact that he gave up on enhancing his body chemically. In my opinion his body was perfect as it is. Also I had stayed in contact with Sam, the journalist/paprazzi who had told Hugh about a „German" woman running about telling tales about her and Hugh. As it turned out, she was from Switzerland and she was a „fan"/stalker making this whole story up. She eventually got caught and deported.
Hugh and I never talked on the phone and our paths never crossed. I just read that he was currently playing on Broadway again. I honestly missed him so much it hurt sometimes. Never before and never after him there had been a man more caring and more lovable than him. Even though he had been so rough with me that time before but fortunately he had put that behind him, as had I.
I was more than surprised when my agent called me that I had an offer to shoot for another TV only film in New York. I had to go there to meet with the producers and talk about the project. So I got a flight one month later. I hadn't been to New York ever as my work kept me busy enough in the LA region. As the selection process might take a few days, I planned to stay there for two weeks. Maybe there would also be a chance to see Hugh in his play.
The next morning I went to see the producers in their offices in New York. They said they were still looking around for actors who would suit their storyline and one of them should have a German accent. They had seen a few before and I was just another one on the list. But the interview went well and I was invited to meet the lead for the film two days later for a dinner with one of the producers at a restaurant in New York. When I asked who the leading actor would be they made it a big secret.
The next day I went to the theater Hugh played at. I was lucky enough to get a resale ticket on the counter so I actually go to see him in the evening. My seat was on the balcony so there was no chance of him seeing me even though I think I was the one who applauded him the loudest. He looked gorgeous and so happy up there! I even went to the stage door after the show but it was so crowded that I gave up before he even showed up and went back to my Hotel. My heart was aching knowing he was in the city and I wasn't able to see him. That night I had the wildest dreams, and Hugh played a big part in them.
