A decieving program.

This story is heavily inspired by the creepy pastas '1999' and 'the children's program', taken from the point of view of a young girl.

It was another cold Fall day. I was locked in since Mommy said it was to cold out. I'd rather play but I wasn't allowed, meaning I would have to be stuck inside. I don't mind to much since I'd be allowed to watch my favorite tv shows.
I sat on the couch, a warm blanket wrapped around me. My cup of hot chocolate sat on the coffee table in front of me a few feet in front of the tv which was hoisted on the wall.
I began to flip through stations until I found one that looked rather interesting. I watched closely, and saw figures dancing, a faint audio through static. I was confused since I never knew about static and plus we usually had good connection. But of course I was intent on watching it.
The figures began to come more clearly, showing that they were all skipping and dancing in a circle. A few of the creatures were people in animal suits and a few were young children who looked unsettled and maybe a little scared. What they were skipping around, were several more children, with crosses carved into their foreheads, cheeks, thighs and more. A few of the crosses were up right or upside down, and seemed to be dried up at this point. When the audio became clearer they seemed to be chanting in a different language. They kept going, slowly getting faster and louder. The children in the middle began to whimper, their wounds began to gush blood, resulting in a few crying and screaming.
My mom came in from the kitchen to ask me what I was watching. I turned to her and shrugged, but for some reason I knew the name.
"It's called children fun and gathering, mommy!" I smiled cheerfully, not understanding the confusion.
"Honey you're watching static now.. I just heard something on." Mommy seemed confused, "sweetie please make sure to watch children things and drink up your hot chocolate."
"Okay mommy!" I chirped and turned back to the tv which was nothing but static now. All I could do was shrug it off, change channels and drink my hot cocoa.

It was the next day now and I was back on the couch to watch the tv. I flipped through Channels again and found the one from yesterday, but this time it was not static at all. It viewed a few park bench's and green scenery. It looked familiar, almost like the park I would always go...
This time there were no animal people and just a bunch of children. None of them were carved with the crosses or chanting in the foreign language. They sat on the bench or on the grass, a few talking and others played or drew. It was peaceful until one of the animals, which happened to be a dog, came over and called for them.
"Gather around children! We're gonna play a game called hide and seek tag!" The dog talked with his arms, moving them from side to side, swaying a little bit. The children gathered around him, contently. They seemed eager to play the new game. The dog picked a young boy to be seeker and tagger. He told everyone else to go hide.
They obliged and ran off to their hiding spots, the camera panning to a girl that looked surprisingly like... me.
The girl ran off into the trees and kept running until she reached a clearing. She hid here, before the camera panned off to other children. A few looked scared, hiding in trees, bushes, under benches and more things. A few of the views showed bleeding and bruised children. Those clips were all a second long before it went back to the seeker finding the girl in the clearing. The girl began to run and scream for help.
It seemed the boy had a weapon and was gaining on the girl fast. It changed to the dog giving a creepy laugh.
The show stopped, for a different cartoon to come on. I carried on as if it never happened.

I happened to be back on the couch, watching the tv yet again for the third day in a row. This time it showed several animals at the park yet again with the children. This time it showed the parks name, Garbridge Park. The park I always go to..
The children were screaming and crying, a few of the animal suited people were carving crosses into the crying and screaming children. Although there were a few children behaving. They seemed to scared to dare make a ruckus. These children were being caressed, and praised.
That was the whole episode. It last maybe three minutes and I watched it all. I'm beginning to get quite suspicious of the new show I've been watching. But I found it entertaining and found myself beginning to love it despite not understanding anything. Mommy doesn't know I've been watching it and I don't think she would approve..

The next day the episode played out as, what seemed to be, a church service. The animals were preaching and yelling words I didn't understand. The children, when on cue, would either chant or sing along with the praises. It played out for a while until it cut to children standing shoulder to shoulder. A few looked terrified and a few looked like they were in pain.
They never did anything for the rest of it. Just stared..

For the next few days the show kept playing, some days weirder then others. I was beginning to be very creeped out until one episode began with the dog. He waved and gave a goody grin through the mask.
"Hey kids! Would you like to have a special featuring? Come join us at Garbridge Park any day and we'll gladly recruit you!" The dog spoke cheerfully and enthusiastically.
I was curious and just had to see. It was a nice day out, with just small Specks of snow. My mommy put me in hats and a big coat. I was allowed out to go to the park alone. It was considered rather safe in the park by most adults, especially since there were quite a few houses there.
I walked there, growing closer and more eager. I never saw anything so I figured it was farther inside. Once I entered I kept walking, avoiding all the play things. I began to hear singing.
I smiled gleefully, and ran towards to the singing. Once there I saw a lot of kids, and people in animal suits.
A few children were crying and rubbing their eyes, while others sang. I joined them all speaking the nonsense words, just trying to go with the flow. I felt a hand on my shoulder and breathing on my neck.
"Welcome Home new child.. we'll have fun with you."

We were all taken into a concrete building that was quite literally a box. I began to beg to go home only to be slapped and hit. I shut up, quickly learning my lesson. Other children whimpered in response, being chained to a wall. I was lead into a different part of the large concrete box. We were kept here to entertain ourselves, listening to the other children beg and scream for mercy.
It continued for the whole night until morning came around to go film more. We went to the part of the woods with benches again. Today we would be playing a game. More children arrived, they would be taken in unable to go to their mommy's and daddy's. We were all stuck here now... an endless loop.
If any of us got to old or sick we would die and the other children forced to hide the body's some how. I really wanna see mommy right now... I wish she could save us or just anyone. I don't want to be with the animal people I don't like what they do to us.. they games they sometimes make us play. My legs hurt lately. I'm stuck dealing with the crosses they carved into me and the constant games at night...
I wish someone would save us..

Police report #67
Case: missing children
There has been thirty children reported missing. All the children's parents claim they went to a nearby park called, Garbridge Park for them to never come back.
When asked the parents claimed their children were all quite happy with their lives and had been watching a television show. Coincidentally it was all by the name of, Children Fun and Gathering which aired on channel 402. Some parents claim it was just straight up static or happened to be an actual show of children playing games and singing songs with adults dressed as animals.
So far there is no lead on the missing children, the Park already being thoroughly searched.

Heyyyy, so that's the end to this story for now at least ;)
I hope you all enjoyed and it gave some chills maybe. I will post more stories as they come to mind, and I will eventually edit this so I don't mind any mistakes. Also I'll take constructive criticism and feedback!
Until next time, see you later!
