Tom's POV:
The drive to Fitzroy Square was long and quiet, except for the quiet whispers here and there coming from everyone except me. Hunt already assigned where everyone will be, who they would be with, and what their assignments were in order to remain unnoticed in a normal and rather busy area. I, of course, was assigned to be with Hunt and Y/N. I was actually a little shocked but definitely relieved that he followed through with this, but I felt like part of it was so that I'd break our deal so that he would have to send her back. There's no chance I'd let that happen at all though. Not again. She's leaving with me tonight. And that I can promise.
AH: "Alright everyone we're here," he alerts us as he looks down at his phone. He then looks back up at us as the car stops. "Everyone know where you're suppose to be and do?" He asks and everyone nods their heads. "Great. Z you're our eyes for everyone. Keep us updated if you see anything or anyone that might interfere with us getting the black box." If only he knew what was about to happen.
Z: "Yes sir." She says as she turns back to him. "I'll be in the van keeping an eye out and will alert you and everyone else immediately if I see anything suspicious," he nods at her comment. She then drops a few people off at a time in different locations to not draw attention to us.
AH: "Great now it's just us," he says turning his attention between Y/N and I. "Before we go though," Hunt says unlocking my handcuffs, "I'm going to replace the handcuffs with this," he says now placing a tight band on one of my wrists.
T: "What's this?" I say observing my wrist. It look like a normal, but I knew better that it wasn't.
AH: "You'll find out if you try anything. Now let's go find that black box," he turns to Y/N and I. "Lead the way Thomas," he pushes me forward out of the van. I walk them towards the street I hid the box, but I want them to think that I was unsure of the specific spot so that I could just get Y/N and I alone. "Are we here?" He asks as I stop walking.
T: "I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in this area," I say raising my cuffed wrist to scratch my head.
Q(Y/N): "You've got to be kidding me," she crosses her arms.
AH: "You're telling me," he says closing the gap between us, "my used to be top trai-" he says pointing at me, but then stops himself catching his words. I smirk at him catching himself almost letting himself give a hint as to who I am to Y/N. "My biggest rival, the best of the best, can't exactly remember where he simply put something? I don't believe that for a second. Now wipe that cocky shit smirk off your face," he points in my face closing the gap between us even more.
T: "Hey, hey, hey," I put my hands out in defense taking a step back, "maybe if I hadn't been shot," I say looking at Y/N, "and hadn't had volts coursing through my body," I say now turning my gaze between them two, "it would be easier for me to remember," I say sarcastically. "Don't you think Hunt?" I smirk.
AH: "You better shut your-" he starts to say as he approaches me but gets cut off my Y/N coming between us.
Q(Y/N): "Hey! Would you two shut up! We're wasting time. And in case you both forgot," she says raising her eyebrow at us "we're in public so get your act together." She says and both all of us stood there in silence until Y/N continued. "It might be better Hunt if you gave him some space. Yes?" She looks at him raising her brow, and he returns a skeptical look. "We might just get out of here faster," she says and I can see Hunt debating in his head whether or not this is a good idea. Is Y/N and I alone together for just a little while worth getting the black box? He takes a deep breath and says,
AH: "Fine," he heavily sighs, "but I need a word with Tom first. Alone."
Q(Y/N): "Okay just let me know when you're done then," he nods to her and she walks away. Hunt puts his hands in his pocket, and once he does my wrist gets shocked.
T: "shit," I try to say lowly but a few heads turn my way, and I'm quick to apologize. Hunt then pulls we away from the crowd and into the alley.
AH: "I know what you're up to so wipe that smug look off your face or I won't hesitate to activate that bracelet," he threatens lowly as we stand there in the cold musty alley, and my face drops letting him go on. "I know that I won't be able to get the black box without you and Y/N alone together and her talking to you to find the black box, but if you say anything about all of our pasts, or if she asks you and you tell her the truth, I promise you I will make sure you have a much slower and more painful death after we retrieve the black box and are back at Phantom," he says as his cold piecing eyes stare back into mine. "Do I make myself clear?" he asks and I nod my head saying I understand. "Well then. Go get me my black box. Quinn he's all yours," he smiles shoving me back into her direction.
Q(Y/N): "Let's go Tom," she calls for me. "We ain't got all day! We've already lost some time!" I walk to her and once I'm with her she asks, "So what spot do you remember or seems familiar?" My eyes scan down the sidewalk, and I take a few steps, and my eyes lock near where I threw my earpiece right before where I turned down the alley Y/N shot me. I need to get that earpiece to let Haz know I'm here.
T: "I think it's somewhere down here before the alley where you shot me?" I point with my hands. We walk along the sidewalk, and I begin to "search" for the "black box" even though it's a little bit further down in the other direction we're going. My hands move boxes and trash bags and other things out of the way, and my left hand feels that familiar thing. The familiar thing that starts to put my plan in motion. My eyes carefully moves down to see the small earpiece. Y/N is standing on the right side of me so she isn't aware of what's on the left side of me. I glance back towards her to see if she's paying close attention.
Q(Y/N): "Did you find anything?" She turns to me and asks just standing there in place.
T: "Nope just give me like one more minute and then maybe we should start in the other direction if I don't see it here."
Q(Y/N): "Ok just hurry up," and she shifts her body looking around observing to see if there's anyone around us since there's many people out today. I find this as my opportunity to place the earpiece in my ear quickly without her knowing or becoming suspicious. I bang my the earpiece in my ear not sure if it's working or not. I fake a cough and Y/N turns towards me and I give her a weak smile, and I act like I'm still searching as I look through the cracks in the brick wall. I then hear a screeching noise in my ear and quickly turn my head from Y/N. "You good?" She asks somewhat concerned.
T: "Yah, yah. I'm fine. I just have a massive headache," I say massaging my right temple with my right hand and slightly messing with the earpiece with my left hand and Y/N chuckles. I then hear almost a whisper. Like someone saying my name.
Q(Y/N): "You didn't find it?" She asks and I hear the whispering voice again calling my name.
Haz: "Tom?" I hear and I rub my temple. "Tom? You there? Tom? It's me Haz," he says and I hold back the smile that wants to form on my lips. I cough instead signaling that I heard his message. "Tom try and give me a sign as to where you are."
T: "You ready to go in the other direction closer to Fitzroy Square? Near where we met up?" Code for where we meaning Haz and I were suppose to meet up last night which was exactly where I hid the black box.
Haz: "I'm coming your way buy me some time because it'll take me a few minutes to get to you."
Q(Y/N): "Ok well let's start heading that way."
T: "Sounds like a plan," I say. Step one complete.
