hi, my name's eden. i'm just a normal girl, writing a normal story about my life.

wrong.

i'm a girl who's skin changes color based on how they feel. that's not even near normal. this 'curse' has put me through hell and back, but without it i wouldn't have met the people i know, and i wouldn't be writing this, now would i? now please, sit back, relax, and watch my life go downhill from birth.

part 1 - parents.

i only have one parent, and it's my mom. my dad left when i was 5, and i have no memory of it. apparently he didn't want to be my father anymore when he found that i change colors. honestly, if i had a daughter who's skin changes colors, i would never leave her side. that's fuckin' awesome. but, he didn't feel the same. oh well. anyways, my mom's name is raina. she's not the best mother, but she's all i've got. she's nice and all, but she's part of the reason why i'm so ashamed of my abilities. all my life, she's told me that if anyone, and i mean anyone, finds out about my abilities my life will go straight to hell. thanks, mom, but my life already has. no one except for her knows of my abilities, and honestly i'm not sure how. i mean, i don't leave the house often, unless it's to go to work or if i need fresh air. i work at a coffee shop, since i live in a small town and it was the only job i could find that i thought i could tolerate. it's not too bad.

oh, i forgot to even tell you how old i am. nice one, eden. i'm 21.

now, i'm guessing you think i'm a bit mean based on what you've read so far. i'm not excessively mean, i've just given up on trying to be nice to people who don't return the favour. i was so worn down trying to be nice. i've shut myself out from almost everyone in my life, in fear of messing up again. i can't let myself hurt anyone else.

i have one friend, and she's my coworker. her name is cherry. i don't know why everything fits one single aesthetic in this town. it's almost like i'm in a book or something.
