TARON CREDENCE, 19
The next day, first lunch break
I yawn as I exit my first class, no fuck that, I yawn after every class."Excuse me, Taron." I hear from a familiar British voice as I feel a slight tug at my sleeve.
I turn around to face the voice as everyone else walks away to their next class.
It's her."What is it? I've got class to go to." I ask, hoping she has a good reason.
"I was thinking... uh... do y-you..
DO YOU WANT TO BE—?!" She shouts as she almost sends me deaf."—Jesus, I'm not deaf! But I will be if that's how you're going to approach me for the rest of the year!" I snap, as her cheeks go red with embarrassment.
"I'm so sorry, I'm just nervous." She replies shyly, looking at the floor beneath her.
"I'm guessing you want to ask me about our assignment?" I mutter as I'm getting anxious about being late for the next class.
"Do you want to be friends?" She says shortly, as she fidgets with her fingers.
"No." I glare.
"What?! But I didn't even get to—" She says as she attempts to change my mind.
"Bye." I start walking to class, I really don't want to be given a detention or kicked out just because of, whatever that was.
I walk away from her. Fast.
And I sigh in relief as I reach the door of my next class, but then I realize...
Taylor Bennett is in almost all of my classes.
Including this one."Can we be friends?" She says behind me.
Fuck!
Second Period
We're in class and she's sitting right beside me, constantly looking at me. I swear she's inching closer to me as the period goes on."Would you like to be friends?" She whispers as she leans over to me.
"No. Shoo." I respond sharply.
"Pretty please? I'd really like to be friends with you." She says with an awkward side smile on her face as I glare at her.
"Why don't you go for Leyton? You seem like his type." I shrug back.
"And what's that?" She says with wonder.
"Desperate and lonely."
Third Period
You've gotta be shitting me.
She's here, again, in my next class, right in front of me and she keeps looking back at me.She mouths "Friends?"
I don't even have to think about my response 'cause it's,
"No."Fourth Period
"Please—""No."
Fifth Period
She glances in my direction."No."
Sixth Period
"Please, I—""No."
After school
I ease my head out, slowly from a corner wall to see if that Taylor girl is anywhere to be seen, but I don't see her.
Thank fuck.
She's driving me insane with her obsession to be friends."Taron." I hear from behind me.
"Ehh, not today, Satan." I say as I quickly make a run for it. There's no way in hell I'm ever becoming that weirdo's friend. She's annoying as fuck.
