After he leaves the swamp he sees that everything's getting more dryer and that there's less vegetation he realizes then that he's entering a dessert.
After being aware of the landscape he realized that he had to take a break. He realized that if he walked during the day that he would lose his strength faster. So he decided to walk only at night. During the night though he would always keep a low cover sense he always heard lots of howls and sense they came from all around him. However one night he realized that he howls we're getting louder and louder until one night when he woke up to howling he saw red eyes staring at him and they looked evil.
He got up immediately but before he could run away the figure jumped on him when the figure looked straight at him, Makucha was horrified he saw a giant coyote with scars all over his face, an eye clawed out and blood coming out of its mouth. After Makucha looked at the coyote the coyote immediately started scratching him but after a few seconds Makucha throws the coyote off and high tails it out of there, and hears the coyotes howl become fainted and fainter and then silence.
After running for about 20 mins Makucha thinks that he should take a break so he lies down and starts thinking about Chuluun and how beautiful she is.
He starts thinking about what there reunion would be like, he started feeling a little nervous but also excited then when the sun come out he started seeing something in the distance he saw trees, water, and bushes at first he thought it was a mirage, but as he got closer to it became more and more clearer that he had found the jungle.
