Loki had made it his top priority to stay within the walls of his room, never once leaving. After all, he had everything he needed anyways. Books, spells, charms, tricks, about everything he could ask for. As for food, he was able to get that delivered.

The raven decided it was in his best interest to stay away from Alfarinn for as long as his stay would last. Loki had no desire to see the man, let alone hold a conversation. As for Thor, he was reluctant to admit he missed the company of his brother. These thoughts only brought back Loki's insecurities and self loathing thoughts.

Shaking himself, he dove back into the wonders of the written world. A beautiful world where everything seemed to fall into place, without flaw or fault. A life Loki was convinced he would never live.

He thought about his mother, Frigga to be more specific, she was the only one who seemed to truly love the boy. Though, her motherly tendencies were only to a fault, as her husband was the one and only Allfather.

In another room Thor sat, a heavy disappointment settling within his chest. He could hardly believe what his father had said. Thor knew he was more that ready to rule, needless to say he was baffled when Odin did not feel the same. It was hurtful. Thor had always made it his life to be the heir his father wished for. When he'd become just that, it was not enough. Perhaps, he wondered, that is what my brother feels.

The blond shook the thoughts just as soon as they entered his mind, not wishing to think of his brothers selfishness, his hunger for power, his jealousy and cruelty.

Thor missed the young boy that was once his pure and innocent brother. He was unsure as to what changed that. However, Loki now lived to his title.

He'd been sitting in his room, tossing around the mjölnir from hand to hand, simply to pass time. He had no duties this day, and he felt no desire to train at the moment. It's not like it would effect him anyways.

Thor was surprised to see his father's head guard at his door but moments later.

"What is it?" He asked, staring down at the other.

"Your highness... I-" He cut himself off, composing, "There's been an accident, the great Allfather and Allmother will not be returning."

"Why? What happened?!" Thor demanded, his ocean eyes lighting with anger.

"It was a trap, your highness. I'm sorry." He spoke genuinely, his eyes downcast no doubt grieving himself.

Thor dismissed him while keeping as calm as he could before he released a wrath and grieve filled shout, kicking things within his room.

"Your highness?" A weak voice spoke from behind the closed door, "The king wishes to see you."

The blond knew she referred to Alfarinn, Asgard's new ruler. With a heavy sigh, Thor wiped his eyes and left, heading begrudgingly to the throne room.

He was slightly surprised to find Loki had willingly went as well, knowing him. His eyes were bloodshot, he had no doubt heard the news as well.

The raven didn't bother to cast a glance in Thor's direction, causing him to sigh deeply. He shouldn't have expected anything different from someone like him.

The king sighed, looking on the two before him, "Today, is a day of grievance, a day of sorrow. I know." He said softly before his voice hardened, "However, I believe it is important that you both understand what this means. It means Asgard will change. We will be superior in every way, dominating and slaughtering whoever stands in our way."

Thor blinked, taken aback by his sudden change in character. His eyes flickered to Loki once more, who's looks held nothing but cold fury, no form of surprise.

"This also means," a sick grin split the man's face, his silver orbs connecting with Loki's emerald, "I can take whatever it is I desire. Someone by my side, for example."

Thor couldn't comprehend as to why Alfarinn kept his eyes locked with his brother.

Again, he fruitlessly tried to look for answers from the raven, only to see his eyes glistening with hate.

"You may be right, my king," Loki spoke with venom, sarcasm leaking through his words, "But there are somethings not even a king can have."

"Oh I doubt that." Alfarinn replied silkily, a smirk playing on his lips and he laughed. "I highly, doubt that."

Thor watched as the two seemed to have a battle to which he couldn't understand, yet again. Though, he was not expecting what occured next.

Loki's eyes changed from a chilling emerald to a smoldering crimson, and Thor knew then that Loki knew something he didn't.

Loki could read people, not like an average person, he could see their emotions from a word or a look. And he learned something. Based off his lose of control, it was far from good.

He pivoted on his heel, letting himself out of the room with an echoing slam.

Thor couldn't help but stare after him, his mouth gaping slightly. His crystal eyes flickered from the king to the door, eventually leaving on dismissal.

He looked for his adopted younger brother everywhere he could think of, eventually hearing shouts along with flashing of radiant light. These of course, were followed by slams of what Thor could only guess was furniture.

Perhaps his brother was upset, though Thor had never recalled a moment where he had thrown of destroyed anything in such a way. Not physically, at least.

Thor rushed toward the library, a place where Loki hardly spent his time anymore, as he had already read every book, and he could get almost any with a trick or charm.

The blond rushed to the room, throwing open the doors only to stand in shock. There was absolutely no one there. No Loki, no maids, no librarian. Gone. It was like some sort of crazy phenomenon.

He looked over his shoulder, around the shelves, but yet, nothing. Absolutely nothing.
