Inuzuka's Mate

*Naruto's point of view*

After a long time, I'm finally back in the Hidden Leaf! I'm going to see Kiba, Sakura, Kakashi-sensei, Granny, and everyone else! I wonder how much better everyone has gotten? I hope they're not all Jonin. As we walk along the dusty road, I can see the gates! I speed up, knowing we've been expected to arrive today and everyone will be there. I rush through the gates, waving at Izumo and Kotetsu. They grin back at me.

 "Hey, Naruto! Everyone's at the Fourth's head waiting for you!" Kotetsu yells. I nod and speed up. 

Arriving at the head, I run up to the cliff area behind it, seeing everyone there. "Wow, you're all here! Even Hinata and Neji! I thought you hated her, Neji." Seeing a guy with most of his face covered and wearing a jacket, I quickly search through my memory. "Shino! You've certainly changed!" He looks surprised.

"You remembered my name."

I grin. " I was just messing with you before!" Lies. "I remembered your name the whole time!" More lies. What? He's forgettable? I look around. Wait..... Where's  Kiba? "Where's Kiba?" I voice my concerns. Suddenly, I see a figure in black racing up on a white... dog?

"I hope I'm not too late!" They leap up onto the cliff. Immediately, I feel strange. I waver, feeling weak. I fall to my knees. 

Granny comes up to me. "Naruto! Are you alright?" 

I try to stand, leading on Granny's arm. I walk over to the figure, which now reveals itself to be a brown haired teen with red markings on his cheeks. "Kiba?"

He opens his fierce eyes. "Naruto..." He gets up, leaning on  Hinata. 

"What happened?" I ask. A woman with Kiba's hair and markings wearing makeup comes up to us.

"Aw, did little Kiba finally find his mate?" She smirks.

"Mom! What are you talking about?" She hold up a hand mirror.

" Kid, just look at your cheeks. When an Inuzuka finds their mate and they are attuned to a different animal, their markings, simply put, evolve." Kiba looks into the mirror. His eyes grow wide as he takes in the difference. His fang-shaped markings now also have three blank spots in the same places as my whiskers. Then she pointed the mirror at me. My black whiskers are now wider, fading to red at the ends. We look at each other.

"Well...." I start.

"I..." He says. We both blush.

"Kurama, what do I do?"

"Don't say I didn't warn you, kit. I told you alright. You just didn't listen. Try acting normally. I don't want you to have any fan girls. If you keep blushing like this, you may."  

"Well, that was unexpected." I say.

Kiba looks up. "That's putting it lightly." We chuckle.

"At least we know each other?" He nods.

"Yeah."

Granny breaks in. "We still need to celebrate. Now, we just have another reason. Shizune, get us some sake!"

"But, Lady Tsunade-" Granny shoots her a dark look.

"Sake."

Shizune scurries off.

"Now, everyone grab some food!" She calls. I look around, seeing assorted meats, rice, dango..... there! Ramen! I grab a bowl and wolf it down. Kiba grabs some meat and sits next to me.

"So..."

I sigh. "This is awkward. How about, we give it all time and for now, enjoy the food and talk about normal things?"

"Sounds good." He grins, a piece of meat stuck in his sharp teeth. "Any cool new jutsu?"

"Well, I made the massive rasengan. I'm starting on Sage jutsu, but that normally takes a while. Pervy Sage says that I'm doing better than he did, though. I can make more shadow clones. I also made a few new inspired jutsu, if I say so myself. My chakra control is a lot better. I've almost mastered my wind chakra. There's also the tailed beast stuff. Otherwise, I think that's about it. You?"

"Well, I've been working on a new wolf transformation. So, Akamaru and I can transform into a two-headed wolf. If I use shadow clones, I can add heads. So far we can do three heads. Not much, but we're getting there. I don't exactly have your chakra, but eventually, we'll have a multi-headed wolf!" Kiba replies, excited.

"Awesome! Hey, you think that maybe, working together, we could make a giant wolf/fox hybrid thingy? It could have any amount of heads between two and two thousand!" I say, excited.

He lights up. "Yeah, that sounds awesome! But how exactly would we do it?"

"Well, try doing the Wolf like you would with Akamaru? But I may need to know that jutsu you use, but that's probably a clan secret.... In which case.... Let's try it!"

"Yeah!" We jump up and are about to jump off the head when someone grabs us both by the collar. We hear a demonic growl and exchange a glance, gulping in unison. Slowly, we look back. " M-mom! What's up? " Kiba laughs nervously.

"The party's for you two pups. You better stay until the end, or else....." She leaves the rest unsaid as she lets us down.

I nod frantically. "Yes, ma'am!"

She looks at me and smiles sweetly. "Oh pup, just call me Mom or Mother! I mean, you are little Kiba's mate, after all."

I sweatdrop at her sudden change of behavior. " Uh, yeah... Mother?"

"Alright, see you later!" She jogs off. "Oh, and try to wait until at least the second date, pups!"

Kiba and I look at each other again, blushing furiously. "Well, wanna party?" I ask, breaching the silence.

"Sure! Sorry about Mom....." He rubs his head sheepishly and lights up like a bulb. "Let's get some sake! I bet nobody'd notice, and if they did, they wouldn't say anything! We are technically adults, being ninja, even if not age-wise. And it is our party!"

Something within me stirs at the mention of sake. "Yes please!" I sling an arm around his shoulder and we head off to attempt to get drunk.
