It was late when I heard Noah’s motorcycle stop in front of my porch. I hadn't dared to close my eyes that night in fear that I might not hear the roaring of his cgi. The neighborhood however was sound asleep as well as my family. They might have turned in their sleep from the sudden noise but since I said my goodnights to them I hadn't heard them since.

As silent as possible I made my way out of bed and into my combat boots that were directly next to my bed. I had everything perfectly planned out for tonight: boots on the floor, jacket over the chair and my backpack next to the window. After checking my appearances in the mirror above my desk I straightened out my skater dress and took my backpack from the floor. With a little creek my window opened.

Noah was already waiting on the ground floor to catch my things. I carefully threw the backpack at him and went back inside to put my jacket over my shoulders. After doing so I sat myself down on the windowsill and threw my legs outside. Noah was already moved back underneath the window in case I would slip.

I made a swift movement from the sill to the ivy that was next to it. after lowering myself to the ground floor, Noah took hold of my hips to support me when I made my jump. After making sure I was alright he went back to start the engine of the bike. I took my backpack from the lawn and followed him quickly.

Before I crawled behind him on the bike I took a final look at the house. It would be a while before I would see it again. I would miss my parents and I would miss Denver.

"C'mon Cait!"

Noah handed me my helmet and off we were. The further went away from the house the more I became certain about our choice. I let all of my fears go and finally allowed myself to smile while my grip tightened on Noah's shirt.

When we reached the corner of the street I saw Rhett waiting on his own motorbike. As soon as he saw us coming he turned his engine on and his headlights sprung on.

We stopped and greeted each other shortly before we went back on the road. Although it was mid-June the temperature cooled down lots at night. And I was glad that Noah blocked the wind from my body.

The trip already seemed like a bad idea but still I had no intensions of turning back. We needed this, badly. With those thoughts in the back of my mind we left the sleeping city of Denver and made our way to the West Coast.
