High school Bad Boy's Secret

Chapter 4

I was asked by the doctor to take rest for the next one week. Nat and the three guys came to visit the day after the accident. Thankfully my parents didn't ask any questions.
It was the first time I thought I had friends,sure I had Nat but the more the better...
Just kidding..
But the three guys specially Callum seemed to understand me like my parents and Nat did.
They made me feel like I'm part of their little group.
But deep inside I knew all of this was fake. I knew the only reason Callum was being nice to me because he felt guilty about the accident and also because he wanted my help. Nat brought me homeworks and assignment for me to catch up, Tyler and Jake brought lot's of snacks and Callum brought me a .... bunch of flowers!!
Why is he being so nice... I already agreed to help.
Callum started coming everyday for the next one week.He brought homeworks Nat gave him for me, because she became busy with Tyler (she called me up and said sorry though) he also brought a lot flowers like the first day.
"Why are you bringing me flowers everyday?" I asked him.
"To prove you that though I'm a bad boy I can be a good boyfriend" he replied smiling gently.
Boyfriend!? Is he taking this whole thing serious?
"But it's not real ... I mean we're just going to pretend to be couples,right?"
Atleast that's what I thought the whole 'being Callum Wolfhard's girlfriend' is a pretension.
He seemed disappointed at what I said. But then he smiled again.
"Yeah ofcourse...but since you had no experience with boys before, we're going to practice being a real couple... I'm gonna pretend to be your boyfriend and you , my girlfriend" he explained"also it's gonna help you in future " he added.
"Meaning?"I asked
"In our practice session of pretending as a couple, I'm gonna help you with your crush" he said."I'm going to make sure you two end up together"
What!? The High school Bad Boy wants to help me with my crush.
Oh God!
"I don't need your help with anything, You are the one who wanted my help...so.." I said "I'm just gonna do it and finish this"
There was pause in which Callum nervously ruffled his already messy hair. After sometime he spoke.
"I thought you'd want my help specially because that guy has now started showing interest in you..."
What is this guy saying?
We're in the same class but Liam had never talked to me before. We had made several eye contact but I wasn't sure if he even knew my name.
"What!?" I said, surprised.
" Well, he noticed your absence...he asked Natalie today that why were you not coming to school" Callum's words made my heart flutter.
Liam asked for me?
He knows me..
Oh God!
I think I was going to die from happiness and shock.
"Is it true?" I asked trying to hide my excitement.
"Why would I lie? You are free to ask Natalie if don't believe me" he said faking anger.
That night after Callum went, I called up Nat to know the truth. Turns out Callum was right.
"I was going to tell you about it myself" she said.

After the week ended I started going to school.
I was at my locker looking for my books. When...
"Are you sure... you still want to do this?"
I dropped some of the books.
Callum was standing behind me looking serious.
"You scared me Callum..."I gasped."and do I still want to do what?
"Pretend to be my girlfriend"he said.
"Yeah! I mean I told you I would" I replied.
He smiled.
But soon his smile changed into a smirk.
"That means I can touch you" he said touching my chin "and kiss you and...." He added moving closer.
What the hell!
We were just going to pretend that we're together that too in front of his mom.
Why does he keep behaving like it's real,like we are a real couple?
"No" I pushed him hard.
"Why not?" He frowned.
"You said we're just gonna pretend...that too in front of your mom." I said
His face tightened.
"Stop it...!" He gritted."stop being sympathetic... I don't fucking need it" he yelled suddenly and banged the locker door.
What is he saying?
Why would I be sympathetic.
"Listen... I...." I started to say something but he just pushed me aside. I fell on all fours.
"Go to hell" he shouted.
I looked around to see the whole school staring at us. I felt like crying.
"Are you alright?" I heard a voice. I looked around to see Liam standing beside me. I couldn't speak a word. I could not stop myself. I started crying. I heard footsteps coming towards me. I saw Callum coming towards me and he hugged me suddenly.
"I'm sorry...I..." he whispered.
"Let me go.." I cried, trying to push him away.
"Didn't you hear her ....leave her alone" I heard Liam say firmly and he pushed Callum aside.
As Liam was taking me away, I saw Nat walk upto Callum and slap him. Tyler and Jake gave him disgusted looks.

"Are you okay?" Liam asked.
We were in the cafeteria, Liam said we should skip this class and I gladly agreed. The cafeteria was relatively full and it wasn't even lunch.
Before I could say anything, there was a shout.
"Oh my God Ash...are you okay?" Nat shouted at the top of her lungs which made heads turn to our side.
"I can't believe Callum did something like this" Tyler shook his head.
" He always respected girls..." Jake said"it was me who hurts everyone including girls...not him" he added. He looked serious for the first time.
"What are you two doing here...? doesn't your friend need you?" I said angrily.
" I don't think he needs us anymore" Tyler said
"We went to him to ask what made him act like this but...." Jake started.
"That bastard punched Tyler" Nat said fuming.
I looked at Tyler, his nose was bleeding.
Oh God!

What's wrong with Callum?
I know he is a bad boy....but I know he had never hurt his friends before.
Why did the mention of his mother made him act like this?
He was the one who mentioned her earlier....he was the one who told me about her illness and how he wants to make her happy.
Or was all of this was a lie and he was just trying to use me. He kept saying he wanted me to be his girlfriend. He even wanted to kiss me.
Why?
