Chapter 3

Everyone: *screams*

Carlos: GET DOWN!!

Everyone: *gets under the kitchen table*

(2 minutes later)

*Shooting stops*

Lisanna: What was that about?

Me: How am I supposed to know? I just moved here.

Lisanna: So did I.

Me: Yeah I know.

Carlos: *leaves*

Me: Is he ok?

Alex: He's fine.

No one got hurt from shooting so other than that my summer was great. I ate ice cream everyday and went to the pool most days. Other days I went to Six Flags with Lisanna and Alex. A week before the first day of 9th grade Alex finally confessed his love for Liz. She was so happy but mad at the same time because I won the bet. Alex also got his driver's license. He still had to have a parent in the car but still. That week passed and it was time for school again.

Lisanna: *walks in my room* First day of ninth grade.

Me: I know.

Me & Lisanna: *squeals*

Me: You like my outfit?

Lisanna: Love. What about me?

Me: Amazing.

Mom(my mom): Guys, Alex is here!

Me: K! *Goes downstairs with Lisanna*

Me: Hey Alex.

Alex: Hey.

Lisanna: *chuckles* Heyy Aleex.

Me: *🤦🏾‍♀️*

Alex: Hey Liz.

Me: Ok can we go now. I can't take this.

Lisanna: We didn't even do anything.

Me: Yet.

Alex: Let's go. We don't wanna be late on our first day.

We were the first ones to get picked up so the bus empty. I was so happy I didn't have to sit next to someone I don't know. Lisanna and I sat in the third seat and Alex sat in the second. After 3 minutes we were at school.

(In the cafeteria)( 7:40)

Me: Guys. We're officially high schoolers!

Lisanna: I know! I'm so excited!

Carlos: *walks up* Hey guys.

Me: Hey Carlos.

Carlos: Can I talk to you alone please?

Me & Lisanna: *lock eyes*

Me: *looks at Carlos* Uh yeah. sure.

Me & Carlos: *walks away from Lisanna and Alex*

Carlos: Ok, so I'm. I need your help.

Me: With?

Carlos: Making my ex girlfriend jealous.

Me: I don't even remember you having a girlfriend.

Carlos: We kinda kept it on the DL.

Me: *chuckles*

Carlos: We could make your ex boyfriend jealous at the same time too.

Me: Wait. Are you saying you wanna go out with me?

Carlos: No. I'm saying we should act like we're dating. And we can't tell anyone.

Me: Hm. Ok. I'm telling one person though.

Carlos: No, you can't tell anyone.

Me: I'm telling Liz. She wants us together so bad she let everyone think we're together.

Carlos: *sighs* ok. But just her.

Me: Yeah, yeah. I know.

Me & Carlos: *walks back to Alex and Lisanna*

Me: Girl I got beans.

Me and Lizzy say spill the beans instead of spill the tea because we're not normal and we don't like to be normal.

Lisanna: Ou. Spill the beans sis.

Carlos: *looks at me*

Me: I can't right now. We gotta wait till we get home.

Lisanna: *😏* I think I already know what happened.

Me: *chuckles* Ok.

Lisanna: *looks at the time* We should find Father.

Me: Okk. Let's go to the band room he's probably there.

Lisanna: Yeah.

(In the band room)

Jonathan: Hi daughters.

Me & Lisanna: Hi Dad/father. *Gives him a hug*

Jonathan: Did you practice over break?

Me and my fake dad, Jonathan, are in band. We both play the trumpet.

Me: A little bit.

Lisanna: By that she means a little bit of everyday.

Me: Well yeah 'cause I was tryna get that high note.

Lisanna: Yeah but you didn't stop playing it.

Me: Don't practice til you get it right. Practice til you can't get it wrong.

Lisanna: And that's exactly what you did. Mommy had to leave the house because of you.

Me: *😂* Whateva.

Jonathan: What time is it?

Me: Uh *checked my phone*  seven fifty.

Lisanna: Oh my gosh we're gonna be late.

Me: *sighs* *🤦🏾‍♀️* You starting this already.

Jonathan: We have ten minutes until the bell rings.

Lisanna: Exactly we're gonna be late.

Me: Oh my goodness. Let's go.
