At the moment the snow is falling so gently yet steadily. Each individual but ending up in one big group where every single snowflake looks the same from a distance. Isn't that what we are? Humans are all different in many ways including race, height, weight, hair color, eye color, the way we speak. But when put into statistics and groups we all look the same. All formed into a whole. One single being. The bigger the numbers are, the more it seems like no one cares for the little things. If there are 3 orphans struggling then someone can notice them from the crowd. However, when there are 50,000 with the same story, people tend to care a lot less for that individual person.
I just wanted to stand out from all of the others, the "individuals." The truth is, even if you can fit into a group, it's up to you to shine and stand out amongst the others. Well, I was tired of just being lost in the crowd, I had to stand out. And that's how I met One Direction. Now, lets start from the beginning.

It's the day of the concert and I am TOTALLY stoked! My best friend Bella and I have front row tickets. We saved up for this concert for a year so that we knew we could get the best EVERYTHING. We even got backstage passes!! We got to get in earlier so that we could be there for sound check.
While everyone in our small little group was waiting, the boys came on stage but it wasn't like the concert opening, it was just like you see your best friend walking through your front door. It was relaxed, but yet exciting at the same time!
The boys said their hello's and were all joking around with us in between sound check. Harry's mic was off for some unknown reason and he yelled so that we could all hear him, "Well I guess this is why we do sound check!" We all laughed. Most of the girls laughed because it's Harry Styles from One Direction. Some of us generally thought it was funny or we thought his lame comment was adorable because we truly do think of the boys as family, friends, or.... lovers. ;) We're just comforatble around them because it feels like we know everything about them. They boys have let us in their lives so much. We know a lot about them. Enough to be considered we can act as if we known them for years.
Pretty soon the fun was over and the boys had to go backstage again while everyone piled in. You can see the girls freaking out, frantically trying to find their seats. You can find the girls who try to sneak in. You can also find the girls who try to steal other's seats.
And then all the lights went down and the intro music started. Soon enough the boys made their fabulous entrance. It was like a dream. Bella kept screaming "OH MY GOD AVA! HARRY LOOKED RIGHT AT YOU!" or "OH MY GOD AVA THEY WAVED AT US!! US!!!!!!"
I didn't really notice that Harry was looking at me quite often and frequently until Bella pointed it out for the 17th time tonight. I looked at Harry a bit quizaclly while he was into "Best Song Ever" entertaining all of the other fans. Was he really looking at me that much? That many times? And just like he could hear my thoughts he looked at me dead in the eyes. With a look to match my quizical one but added as well with his famous flirtatious smirk. In Louis solo, Harry mouthed the words to me: "You know, I know, you know I'll remember you. And I know, you know, I know you'll remember me." And then winked straight at me. Of course all the other girls that thought he was winking at them, screamed.
"Ava... Don't tell me you didn't see that..." Bella said to me totally stunned.
"Oh trust me... I saw it.." I said awstruck as well.
The rest of the concert went on with Harry doing those kinds of things over and over again towards me.
The concert was over and most of the people here were excited and so pumped but yet sad because it was now at an end, except for Bella and I. We had backstages after all!!
We couple other girls headed backstage where we were checked for our passes and had to state our names. It felt so awesome. Apparently the girls in front of us got 'better' passes in which they wanted to hang out for a bit alone with the boys for a long 15 minutes. Since Bella and I were the only other groups, that means we got to be alone with them to. I'm just really jealous that the girls in front of us got to go first. I mean they had the fake tan goin on, they had all the make up, the sexy "let me show off my amazing body" clothes. And then you had little ol' me with my bright blue t-shirt and high waisted jean short shorts and combat boots with a studded bracelet and Bella with her simple flower dress that came half down her thighs with her black converse. Yeah, we're gonna get their numbers and not the prettier girls.
Fifteen minutes went by pretty fast as the boys walked the two barbies to the door and said their friendly goodbyes. The girls were all over them hugging a lingering hug on each and every one of them trying to pop out their fake boobs more than they were already. Thank God, they boys did look a bit disgusted.
Finally it was our turn. The boys turned to us and said "Hello!" at different times but sorta in unison."Hi! I'm Bella, and this is my best friend Ava!" Bella started the conversation. Thank God she started it because I was still in shock. I got pulled out of my tiny universe when Bella repeated through clenched teeth still smiling at the boys, "And THIS is my best friend AVA."
"Oh.... right.. er.. Hi!" Finally managed to get a hello out.
They boys laughed and Liam said, "Right, so lets go back in the room shall we?" We all followed cute little Liam back in the room we'll be visiting in.
It was pretty chill. when we walked in I noticed the black leather couch off to the left, a flat screen tv right in front of the couch. then to the right in the corner was a table holding little crackers and stuff to snack on, with white carpet and walls. A mirror was behind the table. So it was just a simple room. "Would you like a drink?" Harry whispered to me personally right in my ear. It wasn't until now that I noticed how close he was standing to me. "Um, yeah sure. That'd be great, thank you." I said smiling staring straight ahead looking at particularly nothing. He appeared back as soon as he disapeared with a small clear plastic cup of water. "Hope you like water." he said with a light laugh. I smiled and said "It's amazing." laughing and getting a laugh out of Harry.
"Oh! Right! I totally forgot to get you a drink!" Niall said to Bella. Bella smiled and laughed. "It's okay, really! But I guess now you'll have to make it up to me!" She joked and made Niall laugh on his way over to get Bella her water. Bella turned to me and mouthed an 'OH MY GOD' in which I returned the shock by mouthing 'I KNOW!"
The boys asked our hobbies and what kind of things we're into and all that basic stuff in which Harry kept agreeing on everything I said. It made me smile. It made me think that I have a lot more in common with this boy than I thought.
Just when I wasn't feeling shy or shocked anymore and we were all chatting and having a good time one of the security guards came in and ruined it. "All right, times up. Time to leave ladies." He said nicely but firmly holding open the door. "Wait just a minute!" Harry got my attention. "I can't bear not being able to ever talk to you again. Give me your number or something?" OH MY GOD. HE JUST ASKED FOR MY NUMBER IS THIS REAL LIFE I WAS SO EXCITED!!!! WE WERE GOING TO STAY IN TOUCH!
I quickely scribbled my digits on a piece of paper to give him and wrote my name on it, "Ava McGentry" and noticed Bella was doing the same for Niall. "Bella Hamilton." she said aloud with a smile while writing her name down.
"We'll try to keep in touch!" Liam yelled for us as we were leaving waving goodbye.
"We WILL keep in touch!" I heard Harry's voice yell when we were half way down the hall. In which I smiled to hoping they would keep their promise.
