I lay in bed not wanting to get up. If I got up I would have to go to school sooner. Or as I like to say, torture. And I'm not saying that because of homework and class work and all that. I'm saying torture because of the kids and bullies there. I turned to my side to check the alarm clock. 7:30 I don't moaned because I would not be late. I loved being late. Less torture. I heard my mom yell from down stairs.
"Anna, time for school!"
I was so angry. She knew that I had hated school, but yet acted like she didn't know. I rolled over to my side, stood up and stretched. I walked over to my closet, picking my navy blue sweater and skinny blue jeans.I slowly made my way downstairs, hoping mom had made something good for breakfast. I walked into the kitchen smelling bacon and eggs. Which I liked. I sat down at the table eating my eggs first, and as I took my bacon I stared outside to see the school bus waiting for me. I shoved the bacon in my mouth, ran over to the door, grabbed my converse and book bag then ran outside. I walked down the street putting on my shoes, screaming from the snow entering my socks. I slowly entered the bus hoping to see the boy I like. His name was Danny. He was tall, had brown hair, deep blue eyes, and the smile of an angel. He was perfect in my opinion. But he was perfect in everyone in the schools opinion too. I walked over to a seat that was on the opposite side of his. At times he would look at me when I would look at him. I didn't know if he liked me. Who could possibly like me? I thought. We were getting closer to the school, as I walked down the steps of the bus, I missed one step, and without me knowing that he was behind me, he catches me. As I stare into his eyes he says,
"Hello"' He smiles.
I said hi back stuttering.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Anna." I said.
"Oh, well I'm Danny. Wanna sit with me at lunch?" He asked
"Okay sure." As I said that, I wondered about all the terrible things people are gonna say about me sitting with the popular guy. They will hate on me even more that I "took they're boy" as they say.
I walked in to the school, walking in to the class. I sat down at my desk staring out the window thinking and thinking about Danny. Also how I am so lucky that I fell down those bus steps. I thought, " Oh! What if-"
"Okay everyone settle down!"
The teacher said cutting off my thoughts.
"We have a lot to do today."
I rolled my eyes. I didn't hate ELA, I just didn't enjoy it. I liked geography best of all. I hoped to go to Paris one day. I've seen all the beautiful things in pictures and television.
"Take out your ELA notebooks. You will be writing a paragraph on Shakespeare." The teacher said. I pulled out my notebook and a pencil. I thought and fought of what to write. I couldn't think of anything so to waste time I asked to go to the bathroom. I walked out of the classroom, approaching the girls bathroom. Miranda was there.
Uh oh. Miranda walks toward me.
"Hey, saw you in Danny's arms. And listen, he doesn't date losers like you. So if you think he likes you, you're wrong."
She says.
"Okay." I respond.
She exits the bathroom glowering at me. I didn't really need to use the bathroom, so i just sat in the stall. Ignoring Shakespeare things, blah blah, I thought about Danny. He knew I was a nerd. Why would he want me to sit with him? And then I thought about Miranda. Why did she even care about me? I walked over to the sink, staring into the mirror. I sighed as I looked at myself. Then I walked out of the bathroom. Slowly walking into the classroom, I saw the teacher staring at me.
"Anna, everyone is almost finished. Get going girl." She said.
I nodded my head, sitting down at my seat. I still didn't know what to write, but I wrote whatever I knew. The bell rang ten minutes later. I rushed out of the classroom. On my way downstairs to the lunch room, I bumped in to Danny.
"Wow, slow down," he chuckled.
I gave a fake laugh then said, "I'm sorry."
"So did you change your mind about sitting me with me?" He asked.
"No, I didn't." I responded.
"Well then, let's go down."
We go down together, me hoping for no one to see us. Especially Miranda. We picked a table, and then sat.
"So, what's up." He Asked.
"Well we had to write this paragraph about Shakespeare last period." I said.
"Really? Me too." He smiled.
"Cool." I said as I smiled back.
I saw Miranda sitting a couple tables in front of our table. Her face was full of anger. I agreed to stay away from him earlier but I didn't do that. She looked like she was about to run over here and rip me apart.
"Anna, where you looking?" He asked me.
"Oh uhh- nowhere." I said as I quickly turned my eyes back to him.
"Alright." He said.
A couple girls passed by Danny and I, laughing at us. Or should I say me. they whispered things like. "Why is that loser sitting with hot guy?" And "ugh just because she wants to be cool, doesn't mean it will happen." They laughed again and walked away.
"Ignore them." Danny said.
I nodded my head and pursed my lips. The bell rang indicating that lunch was over.
"Goodbye." I said.
"Goodb- wait, what class do you have next?" He asked
"Science." I responded.
"Really? Me too!"
It was the first week of school and I didn't know who was in who's class so it wasn't that surprising.
"Cool, then see you in class!"
A couple minutes later, I walked in to the class seeing him there. I waved and smiled. He waved back. Class was long and boring today, even though I loved science. So instead of paying attention, I though about the possibility on how Danny might be my friend. But then I thought, Anna, what are you thinking? He's probably made out of gold, crafted by the Angels, and your just some outcast, bullied girl. Why would he be friends with me. The bell rang a couple minutes later after I finished my thoughts. The rest of the day was boring. No surprise. Last period, I was so glad to get out. As I left the school Danny said one last goodbye to me, then drove away in his black Volvo. I walked home the short way so I could go back to sleep.
***
The next few days, we greeted each other, sat next to each other at lunch, while I got made fun of for being seen with him. I didn't care as much as I did before. I knew that we were friends now. I didn't ask him, but I just knew. Was I happy? Extremely.

***
I walked in to the school, seeing Danny with Miranda. I had really hoped she didn't ruin my friendship with him. Miranda glanced at me then quickly looked back at Danny laughing at something she said. Said about me. Danny wasn't laughing. Danny got up and approached me with a smile and a "Hey." Miranda was furious that he had just left. Miranda stormed away from the table she has just been sitting at with him ,screaming in anger.
"Miranda I wanted to ask you a question."
Oh my gosh. Is he going to ask me out.
"I wanted to know if...."
SHRIEK! On the inside.
" If You'll come to Paris with me."
Boom! He didn't ask me out. He did something better. He asked me. To go. With him. To my. FAVORITE PLACE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!! I had wanted to go so extremely badly.
"YES!" I cried out.
"Alright, alright." He smiled then giggled.
I could not stop thinking about it all day. I got in trouble three times today for not paying attention, dozing off in to my own world. At the end of the day, I tried finding Danny to ask him about nine billion three hundred questions on Paris. I found him and I ran to him.
"Danny!"
"Yeah?"
"What hotel are we staying in?"
"Are we gonna go see the Eiffel Tower?"
"Can we please take a tour?"
"Should I learn French?"
"Will we even be staying in a hotel?"
I asked this with so much speed.
"Wow! Slow down there. We are staying at my grandmas house, and yes to all the other things."
"Yay!"
***
It was the day of leaving. I said the millionth I love you back too my mom then exited the house. Danny said he would meet me in front of my house. I stood in the snow in my furry jacket seeing him arrive in the black Volvo he drove away in the other day. I got in the car saying hello. The way there, we talked about Paris, mostly I did though. Half an hour later we got to the airport. I saw our flight on that screen thing. We walked to get on the plane silently. We talked about a lot in the car. There was nothing left to talk about so we just smiled as we walked. The flight attendant that was letting us on the plane. She tried saying something, but with her French accent I didn't understand. After a while we both realized she said something like,
"Boyfran, girlfran? Ya?"
We looked at each other surprised.
"Oh no,!" We told her as we laughed.
She laughed back. We got on the plane and sat at at some empty seats. Danny let me sit near the window, which made me glad. I wanted to see the beautiful sky. The plane started to move.
Danny whispered, "here we go."
He smiled. We looked at each other, both smiling. The plane flew high up in the sky. I felt it was going it was higher than it was supposed too. As we were in the sky, I tried falling asleep.
"Anna, are you awake?" I saw Danny look into my eyes. I looked out the window, and saw the sky was bright, not dark like it was before. Soon we had arrived. We left the airport then took a cab to Danny's grandmas house. I was amazed as I looked out the cab window. Paris was just as I had imagined it. Beautiful. Stunning. The buildings, the people, the.... Everything. When we arrived at Danny's grandmas house, it was astonishing. His grandma was rich, really rich! She lived in a mansion.
"Wow!" I gasped.
"Pretty isn't it?"
"It really is."
We approached the house, and then Danny knocked on the door. A nice little old lady opened the door.
"Danny! It's so nice to see you." She smiled. "and who is this?" She smiled at me.
"I'm Anna." I smiled back.
"You're a beautiful."
"Awww thank you."
We walked inside. Danny showed me to a room up stairs.
"Do you like this one?" He asked.
"Very."
I said as I walked towards the window. I could see the Eiffel Tower perfectly from the window.
"Put your stuff down. We're gonna go to the Eiffel Tower." He said.
"Really??"
"Yep."
We walked down stairs.
"Grandma, we're going to the tower."
"Alright dear."
We got a cab that drove us their. I was amazed. It was better than I imagined.
"Danny, it's- it's beautiful."
"Yeah. Just like you."
I looked at him.
"Danny."
He smiled.
I smiled back. "You think I'm beautiful?"
"Yes. I do.... Anna, will you be my girlfriend?"
It finally happened. What I had hoped. He really asked me. Can this be happening?
"Y-yes!"
He smiled then pulled me in to hug him. We both stared at the Eiffel Tower. Me trying to figure out what just happened. I was glad. I always thought it was the end. But it gets better.
