Brad went around town, trying to think of all of the teen hangouts that would be available to her this late at night. The only place he could really think of was the mall, and he knew that was closed. Then he thought about where Dusty might go, and shuddered. Bars, strip clubs, shady alleyways, all sorts of places. He hoped he wouldn't find her in anywhere like that.

That was when he saw a few teenagers walking by, and drove up to them, rolling his window down. "Excuse me, but have you seen a girl with red hair and brown eyes? Her name is Massey?" The kids, two girls and boy, exchanged looks and laughed at him.

"Why? You some kind of cop?" One of the girls asked, putting her hands on her hips. Brad shook his head quickly, feeling the blood drain from his face. If they were worried about cops, what sort of trouble could Massey be in?

"Oh no, I'm her stepfather. " They laughed again.

"Oh yeah! She told us about you!" The guy kicked at the already broken down car. "Some kind of pansy ass son of a bitch!"

"Yeah, she said you were just a ball of dough!" The second girl chuckled. Brad sat up straight, a little offended. Sure, he as a little chubby around the middle, but there was no need be rude! "Bet you got a lot of dough too, even driving around in this hunk a junk!"

"Yeah, check this out!" The first girl had taken her time to examine the car. "This thing's practically brand new! Bet it cost ya a couple hundred bucks?" Brad shook his head.

"Oh no! It was actually really inexpensive!"

"Then I bet you saved a bunch!" The guy leered, yanking the door open and pulling Brad out, Brad yelping when he did. "Wanna hand some of that over?"

"I-I don't want any trouble!" Brad held up his hands, terrified.

"Please! I don't carry any cash on me, I only have cards!"

"Come on, a nice guy like you?" The second girl came over and grabbed him by his collar. "Won't help poor, hungry kids?" he shrugged at that one. He was always willing to help those in need.

"I-I mean, of course I'm always willing to help, but-"

"Then give us the goods!" She kneed him hard in the stomach, pushing him against the car.

"Hey, guys, why don't you knock it off?" They all looked and saw Massey standing there with her arms crossed, looking smug. Brad felt a wave of relief wash over his body when he saw her.

"Hey, its that new bitch." The first girl chuckled. "What do you want?"

"To show you how its actually done." That made Brad nervous as she came closer, her boots thumping with each step. "This guy has been giving me hell since I got into town." She suddenly pulled back and sucker punched Brad square on the nose!

"Oh god!" Brad pulled back, covering his face, looking down to see his hands covered in blood from his nose.

"I wanna return the favor!" Brad fell back as Massey came at him, trying to get away  from her.

"Whoa, Massey, come on!" She kicked him hard in the shin, making him yell out in pain.

"Shut up, Stepdouche!" She screamed, kicking him more, the other three running over to join her. "You ruined my life! If it wasn't for you, Dad would've never come running back here! It's all your fault!" She punched him in the face again, her ring colliding with his jaw. "Why don't you take Mom and the kids and get lost!"

Brad managed to cover his head as the four teenagers kicked and threw punches at him, Massey throwing barrages of insults at him. He couldn't believe just how angry she was! He had never meant for her to be so angry with him. She didn't even know who he was a few days ago, and now she hated him!

"Aw shit! It's the fuzz!" The first three suddenly took off, Massey still beating on him.

"Massey, what are you doing?!" She screamed suddenly, and Brad looked up to see Dusty with his arms wrapped around her, pulling her away from Brad.

"Let go of me!" She shouted. "Get off of me!"

"Come on, chill out!"

"I said get OFF!" She screamed, kicking and digging her heel into Dusty's shin, making him shout in pain as she took off running into the night.

"Massey, get back here!" Dusty pushed his hair back, frustrated and confused, as Brad rolled over onto his back with a groan. "Aw, Brad!" Dusty leaned down and started pulling Brad to his feet. "Aw man, are you okay?" Brad could hardly speak.

"Y-Yeah, I'm okay." he tried to say, holding his sleeve to his bleeding nose, rubbing his forehead and feeling an indention. The letter M, from Massey's ring.

"Aw, she got you real bad, man!" Dusty led him to his car, which thankfully hadn't been damaged from them, and helped into the passenger seat. "I'll get you home, don't worry man. Aw, Sara's gonna be pissed about this!"
