I was brought to a castle belonging to my uncle, who was a duke, for a banquet that was going on that night. His son, Lord Gregor, was going on a job involving a demon lord's minions with Dale and some others, and I wanted to see if I could tag along too.

"So where's you're fiancé? I haven't gotten to meet her yet," I heard someone say to Gregor in the sitting room.

"This is how you greet me Dale?" Gregor asked. "How would you like to die?"

"I see you're still charming as ever"

"Rose is not my fiancé, what do you want with her?"

I got dragged away by a maid, pulled into the spare bedroom I was staying in. Her, and another maid who was already in the room waiting for me, pulled out a gown.

"What's that for?" I ask.

"You should know by now, Princess Alice, the king wants royals staying here in proper attire," one responded.

After getting shoved into the dress I went back to the room I heard Gregor and Dale in. I opened the door, walking in, but Dale had been walking out at the same time. He ran into me but caught me, keeping me from falling.

"I'm so sorry"

He tried helping me up but slipped backwards, bringing us both down with me on top of him.

"This is awkward," he said with a nervous laugh.

I stood up and pulled him back up to his feet. "You're heading out now, right?"

"Mhmm. You look pretty, sorry if I ruined your dress"

"Eh, it's not mine, and it's fine. No damage. Good luck"

He walked off and I went in to sit on the couch. Gregor was sitting in his own seat, looking just about ready to leave.

"Can I come?"

"My father doesn't want you coming this time," he told me.

"If it's because of last time, I'm fine. It was just one cut, and it's healed"

"He wants you here, healthy, for the banquet. But what was that between you and him?"

"Nothing, is it supposed to be something?"

He chuckled and stood up, shaking his head. "You always were clueless about other's feelings towards you"

"Hey, I'm very well aware of wether someone hates me or not. What is that supposed to mean?"

"Just that you're a clueless princess"

He left me sitting there with a pout. I was annoyed he didn't explain it to me, he always liked to leave me in my thoughts, but I understood that this time he had places to be.

After a while of thinking I had the bright idea of joining them. I used my magic, and almost all my energy, to create a portal to end up where they were.

"Latina!" I heard Dale screaming.

"You have some serious separation issues," I say, walking over to them.

They all jumped, some of them reaching for their weapons while the others screamed in fright. I stopped in front of Dale and put a finger to each of his temples, then I mumbled some magic words.

His eyes widened and they glossed over, until I removed my hands. He smiled at me gratefully and sat back down.

"What did you do?" Gregor asks me.

"Some memory magic, I just showed him some of his memories. Like a flashback," I told him, sitting beside him.

"Why are you here in a gown?" Another one of the guys who were there asks.

"Because I was shoved into it by one of the maids because I'm supposed to be at the castle, looking like a princess. I snuck off because I was bored"

They all picked up the little camp they had and started walking again. I stuck directly beside Dale in the front of the group, the others were all behind us at a bit of a distance.

Dale pulled a coin out of his pocket and started flipping it in the air, his eyes never leaving it. He made sure not to drop it, he was careful with it. But while it was mid air I snatched it out of the air.

"You kept my coin?" I asked when I noticed it was the one of a kind coin I had given him. "You could've sold it for millions, maybe even more"

"I couldn't"

"Why didn't you?"

"Because you gave it to me"

He suddenly stopped, holding an arm out in front of me protectively. I could sense a group of devils in the distance. The others stopped beside us.

"Alice, stay back," Dale told me.

"Normally I would argue, but it's really hot, I'm stuck in this dress and I spent most of the energy I had on getting here"

They all easily killed the devils and we got to go back to the castle. I was put into a new, fancier, dress for the banquet.

The whole thing went quickly as we ate, certain people had their speeches, and everyone spoke amongst each other. Then, finally, there was the last dance.

"Why don't we dance?" Dale asked, offering me a hand.

"Of course"

He pulled me out of my seat and we danced around the floor with all the other couples, following along with the crowd.

I giggled as we stopped when the music stopped, I was still in his arms as the crowd started to disperse. We both blushed, staring at each other's eyes, and smiled. Then we finally separated.
