We walked in silence for the rest of the way there. I could see the house coming into view as we got closer. The house was on the bigger side. It had a big front lawn and trees surrounding the area around it. It was a two story house. I asked Bryan and he said that they have a basement.
Once we got there, we could hear shouting form outside Mitch opened the door to find two people trying to catch what looked to be an neko. Neko's are half the size of humans when they are full grown. This one looked to be a younger one. He was about to the top of my knees. Fallen angels are human sized. They are as rare or rarer then fallen angels. The poor thing was running around frantically dodging hands that tried to grab him. He noticed the door was open. He made a mad dash for the it.
Mitch quickly yanked me and Bryan in and shut the door. I was thrown to the floor from how hard he pulled the chain. The neko changed directions before he hit the door. He ran over to me and hid behind me. I was a little disoriented but I shook my head to clear it up.
"What did you guys do!?" Mitch yelled.
"It was Mario!" The orange haired boy exclaimed while pointing at the other guy.
"No! You let it out of the cage because you thought it was cute!"
They continued to bicker till Mitch yelled "Enough! I don't care who's fault it was just fix it." He barked. Since me and the neko both have sensitive hearing, we both winced at the yelling. Bryan went over to me and helped me up. The neko grabbed on to me. He climbed up to my shoulders, then sat on my head.
The two new people looked at each other and nodded. I had a bad feeling as they crept up on each of my sides. They leaped at the same time. I yelped in pain as both of their bodies collided with mine. We landed in a pile on the floor with me on the bottom. I heard one of the say "I got it!" I began to struggle because I couldn't breath.
"Guys! Get off him!" Bryan cried in panic.
"Oh sorry..." I felt the pressure lift off my chest. I gasped for breath and started coughing. Mitch yanked me up by my shirt collar. When I finally caught my breath, I noticed the two new people were looking at me in awe. One had the little neko in his hands. I shifted in place uncomfortable.
"You guys got a fallen angel with black wings! I thought we were lucky." Mario commented. Colin, I'm guessing, had when down stairs with the neko. He came back up the stairs empty handed. He must have put the neko back from where it came from.
"This is Brandon. We are keeping him. He is not getting sold." I looked at Mitch curiously. Everyone had a different expression on. There was a mix of happiness, shock, and anger. Mario was about to protest. "No buts. I haven't got to choose a supernatural I wanted to keep, but now I have."
"Why him!? We could be rich! You could choose anything else but him." Mario screamed.
"Just sell the cat! We'll still be rich. I have my reasons for keeping him. He gave himself up for his younger brother. He has earned my respect." Mitch spat. He began leading me to a staircase that led down. I looked back at Bryan. He was standing there. He gave me a sad smile before I lost his face as I disappeared down the stairs.
Mitch slammed the door shut to the room that we were in. He was mumbling something under his breath. I could tell he was angry. I watched him pace for awhile before I got bored. I looked around the room. It was on the larger side of most rooms. It looked like a normal bedroom for the most part. It had a bed, desk, and dresser. There was one big difference though. In one of the walls, was a jail cell.
It had a bed, straw, and a bowl in it. I'm think the bowl is for water. It was as big as the bedroom. I didn't want to disturb Mitch but I really needed to get the belt off. It was starting to dig into my wings. So I quietly cough. His gaze snapped up at me. It was hostile at first but then he realized it was me.
"Sorry Brandon...I forgot about you. Come here." He walked over to the cell. I followed. He took out a key and unlocked the cell. I was about to go in when he stopped me. "We need to get those restraints off." He took off the belt, then the cuffs. I breathed a sigh of relief. "You don't have to have them on unless we're going out of the house. When I trust you enough you don't have to have them at all. But the collar stays on." I nodded. I walked in.
I watched Mitch for awhile from the cell. It was quite boring but he soon left. I finally could let my brave face fall away. I let all the emotions I bottled up out. I fell to my knee and started to cry. I cried for leaving and hurting Lucas. I cried for failing my parents. I let out a wail of agony and grief. My body shook as I sobbed. Even the strongest people sometimes break.
My sodded quieted into nothing by the time Mitch came back. He had two plates in his hands. He set the plates down to opened the cell. He picked them up walking in. I moved to the bed during the time he was away. I was in a fetal position on the bed. He sat down by me.
He handed me a plate of food. "Eat." He told me. I looked down to see it was carrots, potatoes, and bread.
"Not hungry...." I mumbled. He glared at me when he heard my stomach rumbling.
"You are going to eat even if I have to shove it down your throat." He threatened. I gave him a challenging glare. "I warned you." He said. He pinned me and shoved a spoon of potatoes down my throat. I reluctantly swallowed. He kept doing this until all the potatoes were gone. "Are you going to eat on your own now?" I nodded because my throat hurt from him shoving a spoon in my throat. We ate in silence for the rest of supper.
Once we were both done he took our plates away. He came back with a smirk on his face. "Salves who don't listen need a punishment." He said with lust. I shivered as he grabbed two pairs of handcuffs with a hungry look in his eyes.
