"No way, man. You're on your own." Tyler says as he laughs into the speaker loudly.
"I'm sorry, okay? I just.. I don't even know. But I need your help, man." I say, truly not having an excuse for my act earlier.
"Sure, you do."
"Let me tell you what, huh? Just come help me out and I'll take you to go see Janice. Even right now, after we find this man."
"Luca, you can't be seri-"
"I'm serious, bro. I'm really sorry and I need your help." I say to Tyler over the phone.
"It's cool anyway, man. You don't have to do what you don't want to do. Just tell me where you are." He says slowly.
"Thanks, man." I say, registering how big of a jerk I am in my head. "I'm still in the building, man. Let me just text you what floor I'm on." I say, actually grateful for Tyler in my life.
There wasn't any office in the building I stayed in, so I wasn't exactly sure where I would find the grumpy man. After going from door to door on the floor of the incident, I decided to call Tyler to help me out, cause after all he is a good friend.
"Hey." Tyler says walking towards me with his phone in his hand.
"Thank you for coming." I say immediately he gets close enough.
"Not a big deal. Besides, I brought—"
"Hi." Janice says coming right from the corner Luca just came from.
"I should have expected this." I say under my breath looking at Luca. Turning towards Janice to give her a small smile, I say "Hi."
"You wanted my help right? Let's get into it, man." Luca says, nudging my arm lightly, not waiting for my reply.
"Okay, that's fair."
"Right." Janice says at the same time.
"So, just like I said on the phone. I don't know this guy, he literally just had the most grumpy look I'd ever seen when we bumped into each other on this floor. Also, he was in a hurry because he dropped this." I say waving the light sheet of paper that was between my thumb and index.
"Well, where have you checked for him?" Janice asks calmly.
"Aside this floor, no where else." I say a bit quietly. Searching the floor we're on right now, sounded a lot more in my head.
"Only? Then we better get moving. He could be anywhere." Tyler says as his feet begins to move.
When Tyler suggested we should check the school's office after checking two other floors, I literally had to ask myself why I hadn't thought about that before I called him. All I needed to do was drop the paper I found and the story that came along with it with one of the staffs that worked at the school's head office.
It was going to be easy, right?
Problem solved."Hey, man. You sure?" Tyler asks again as we currently sat in his car. I had told him it won't be necessary for him to stay with me while returning the paper, besides I knew he wanted to spend time with his girlfriend.
"Yeah, for real. It's okay. You guys should have fun, I know you do." I say looking at the both of them in front of me at the driver and passenger's seat.
"Alright, get going then." Tyler says as Janice just laughs.
"I'll find my way home too." I say as I get out of the car and shut the door behind me.
Breathe Luca, it's going to be easy.
