Well it's a good ship and I know they are rivals since "Sonic adventure 2" but they are kinda cute together but I don't really see love or romance in them (Maybe I should read more their stories) also I read a story called Sonadow: Werehog night and I think it's cute when they have their own child(If you want to know more go read it in DeviantArt).
