There was WiFi on the plane. Netflix on the plane. Food on the plane. Drinks on the plane. Pillows and blankets on the plane. This plane literally made me so happy and I hadn't even landed in America yet.

I was delighted I got a window seat. I'd always wanted to see the views from the sky. It was beautiful. Everything was so small. I felt so relaxed. I felt like all my problems had disappeared.

I don't think I packed well at all for this. I packet all my jumpers and jeans and only one tank top and two pairs of shorts. That was all I had really. I'm going to be way to hot. I think I'll need to get Jc to bring me shopping when I get to America. Jc has good fashion sense.

I have an aunt in LA that I might pay a visit too. I haven't seen her since my parents died. She came over to take care of me until the social workers could find me a home.

How my parents died isn't very complicated. They were drinking at a party and stupidly, my dad decided to drive home and crashed into another car. All involved in the incident died which included my mam, dad and the three passengers in the other car. They died when I was only 7 so I didn't completely understand what was happening. Ever since my aunt left I have been living with those rotten foster parents.

My aunt is a nice woman from what I can remember. The last time I seen her she was short, chubby, really kind and she has gorgeous blue eyes to die for.She doesn't have kids or a husband. She really wanted to bring me to LA with her to treat me like her own daughter but the social workers wouldn't let her because she didn't have a steady job at the time.

There's only two more hours on this plane. The guy sitting beside me kept looking at me. I looked at him and he he looked away straight away.

He looked really tall considering that even sitting down he was about a head taller than me. He had a blond quiff and blue eyes. He was good looking I have to say. I looked away because I didn't want him to catch me looking at him.

"Hey, saw you staring" he said and winked.

"Ehm you stared at me first?" I smiled and let out a little laugh. He laughed too.

"No I was just looking out the window" he said blushing.

"Yep okay whatever you say..." I said and laughed.

"Haha, what's your name?" He said, he had an Australian accent so I'm guessing he's from Australia.

"Ehhhh... Sophia, what's yours?" I said, hesitatating on my name. It's the first time I've used my new name, it felt weird but I'll get used to it I hope.

"I'm Luke" he said cheerfully with a smile. "Are you going on holidays or?"

"No, I'm coming over to live here with my best friend, and you?" I replied returning the smile.

"Same here, I'm always moving, I get sick of places very easily. I like to travel a lot" He said.

"Oh cool. This is the first time I've ever been on a plane, but I hope it won't be the last. I'd like to travel." I answered.

"Ah cool, maybe we can be travelling buddies? We can travel the world together" he said smiling.

"Maybe we can" I said laughing, he laughed too.

"Whats your number?" Luke asked. We gave each other our numbers.

"I'll text you and we can meet up sometime" Luke said with a smile on his face.

"Okay that will be fun" I said smiling. When Luke said 'text' it reminded me of Jc, I sent him a quick text.

Me: Hey Jc, be there in 10 minutes, I can't wait to see you! Big hugs? Love you X

Jc: Leaving now, big hugs? I'm not going to let go of you! Love you too x

I smiled stupidly to myself.

"That your boyfriend?" Luke said looking over my shoulder.

"No no no that's my best friend that I'm staying with, I'm meeting him for the first time today" I said excitedly.

"How do you know if he's really who he says he is?" Luke asked worriedly

"Trust me, I know it sounds weird but we've been talking years, he's the only friend I have, I've never been good at making friends but he's always been there for me" I said blushing. I'm embarrassed to say I'm 18 years of age and only have one friend.

"Well now you have two friends" Luke said smiling. I smiled back.

Me and Luke spent the rest of the airplane journey talking. He was a really nice guy I'm glad we met on this plane journey. I hope this isn't the last I'll be seeing of him.

"We will be arriving in LA Airport in five minutes" We heard a voice from the speakers in the airplane saying.

This is the start of a new life for me. A new adventure. I'll finally be able to leave all the bad memories in the past, just forget about everything and move on with my life.

"Everything okay?" Luke noticed me deep in thought.

"Yeah I guess" I said taking a deep breath in and looking at my toes.

"You sure?" He said? Lifting my chin to face him.

"I don't want to talk about it to someone I have only known about two hours" I said, it came out really snappy, "Sorry I didn't mean for it to come out like that. I didn't mean to be mean"

"It's okay I understand" he said with a chuckle "Maybe you can tell me when we become closer?" He said grinning.

"Sure" I said smiling, he hugged me. He smelt really nice, I nestled into his neck.

"We are now landing in LA Airport, please take your seats and buckle your seatbelts immediately" The voice from the speakers broke our hug.

"Time for a fresh start" I whispered to myself, I think Luke heard but he didn't ask any questions.
