This is a personal idea that I wanted to add. It is a lesbian short story. It is mature.

I could see her from my kitchen window. She was tending to her garden, sun making her honey blonde hair glow like gold. She wiped her forehead with the back of her hand, successfully smudging her face with dirt. I smiled softly.
Sofia Carter, the most beautiful woman I've ever known. I've loved her since highschool, but never had the courage to do anything about it. And now here we are, me, living alone with my cat, and her, married to the guy I've had a burning hatred for since we met. She can't see what I can. He's scum.
When she's out earning them money, he's fucking her sister. I've tried telling her but all that has earned me is her hatred. Now she won't even talk to me anymore. It pains me.
She's so smart and so kind. I guess that's why she wanted to become a doctor. All she ever wanted to do was help others. That's why I want so badly for her to be happy. She deserves it.
She suddenly looked up, our eyes meeting for 10 solid seconds before her eyes turned angry and I quickly looked away, disappearing from the view of the window. Great, she probably thinks I'm a creep now.
I was about to leave the kitchen when I heard muffled voices coming from next door. A disgusted look appeared on my face as I peeked back out. Miles, the asshole, was now home and went to the backyard to greet his wife. She got up from her kneeling position to give him a hug and a kiss, much to my chagrin.
I closed the blinds, having seen enough.~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey, Katherine, you feeling okay? You look kinda pale and...sweaty." I look up at my concerned coworker, Blake. I blink slowly feeling sluggish and overall like shit.
"I think I'm okay. I just need some air." I got up to go somewhere else, but I wobbled on my feet, my high heels not doing anything to help. Blake caught me by my arms and led me back to my chair before I could collapse onto the floor.
"Kathy, you definitely aren't okay. I'm taking you to the doctors." He took out his phone, possibly calling one of the other works to come cover our posts.
"No," I was breathless, "no doctors. Just take me home." He looked at me, debating his options.
He sighed and nodded right before who he called answered. He explained and thanked them before hanging up and looking at me like he had something so say.
"Come on hold onto me, I'll drive you home and find a way to get your car to you. I just can't believe to came to work like this." He shook his head disapprovingly as he helped me up and out.
It didn't take long to get to my house from the office, that, or I passed out shortly.
Blake helped me out the car and into my house. I opted out of him taking me to my bedroom since it was upstairs. He laid me down on the couch and seemed hesitant about leaving me alone.
"Call me if you need anything, you know I'm not far. I hope to hear you're better by tomorrow. If not, then I'm coming over and taking you to the hospital." He smiled softly as he pat my head before turning to leave.
I heard the sound of the door as my eyes shut.~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I awoke with a pleasant coolness pressed against my face. The smell of peonies and fresh soil filled my nose. Great, I'm so feverish that I'm imagining her scent.
My eyes flew open when I registered the cool wetness leaving my forehead only to be pressed against my cheek.
"Sofia?!" I tried to not sound like shit, but my sore throat betrayed me as it broke at the end, forcing a cough out due to my need for water. How long have I been asleep?
I look up, she was as beautiful as usual. Her eyes were wide, as if she didn't expect me to wake up at this moment. She almost seemed embarrassed to be caught caring for me. My heart stuttered when I saw her blush.
"H-how are you feeling?" She looked away from me, probably feeling shy cause of how long it's been since we talked.
"I feel a lot better now. But, I don't understand. How did you know I was sick?" I was touched, but confused. She bit her plump lip, as if she didn't want to say, but began to speak anyway.
"I was about to leave for work when I saw you practically being carried in by that guy. I got worried. So... I hung around until he came out. He told me what happened. I...I didn't want to leave you alone like this. I called out of work and have been here since then." She pulled to cold cloth from my face and dunked it in some water in a bowl before wringing it out and placing back on my face.
I stilled.
"Wait, what time is it?!" I tried to get up, but she easily held me down due to me being weak.
"It's about 5pm now. What's the rush?" She sounded amused but also curious.
I suddenly felt cold. I didn't want her to figure out this way. I couldn't let her go home till 10pm, when she would usually get home after work. I knew exactly what was going on at her house right at this moment. I want her to know, but...I don't want her to have to see it.
"Nothing. Nothing. I just was surprised I have been out so long." I lied. She didn't seem to believe me, but she also didn't question it.
"Well, since you're up I'll get going. You know my number if you feel worse." She got up to leave and without thinking, I grabbed my hand. The words got stuck in my throat as I registered the warmth of her hand in mine. She seemed to be equally floored.
"Don't go." It came out as a whisper.
"Why? So you can accuse my husband of cheating again?" Her eyes looked sad as she slipped her hand out of mine. I was quiet and she seemed to grow impatient with my silence and turned to leave again.
"Wait, please, let me explain that." She stopped in her tracks, waiting for me to continue.
"I never lied to you about that." She stiffened, turning around like she was about to say something, but I spoke before she could.
"I've never lied to you about that. I've always been on your side and always was there for you. Why won't you believe me? Have I ever lied to you?" My words faded to a whisper as the sadness in my voice grew.
"You have. You've lied to me since highschool." I felt like all the air was sucked out of the room.
"Wh-what are you talking about?" I swallow hard.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Miles told me all about it. About how you were gay and in love with me. He said you were just trying to break us up." I had been looking down, accepting the truth that was being thrown at me, but when the last sentence was said, I looked up fast, my eyes wide as I suddenly stood up, ignoring my dizziness.
"I never tried to break you two up! All I ever wanted was for you to be happy! Even...even if it wasn't with me." My voiced was quiet by the end, but I still felt anger as I kept thinking about her words of accusation.
"Then why!? Why lie about him cheating?!"
"I DIDN'T LIE!" I gritted my teeth, my face red with anger.
"THEN PROVE IT!" She yelled equally with anger.
"Fine." I was seething. I grabbed her arm, dragging her out the house, ignoring her protests and attempts to get out my grip. As we get closer to her house I slow down, putting a finger to my lips.
"Quiet." She looked like she wanted to hit me but stayed silent.
I didn't lead her inside, rather, I took her to the side of her house, giving her the view I had for the past few months since he started cheating.
Sophia gasped at the sight. And I slowly began to feel guilty, increasingly so as she let out a shuddered sob. I released my grip on her arm and instead wrapped mine around her shoulders, turning her away from seeing anymore, leading her back to my house.
"I'm sorry you had to figure out like that. I never wanted you to have to see that."
She didn't respond, just continued to sob in my arms.
