i know you
"I cannot believe it! are you guys still going out for coffee?" Hannah asked enthusiastically. After i revealed to Hannah and Emmett what had happened last night. they were in awe as i told them everything, from him calling to our chats at the fair and when he took me back home.
i nodded, laughing slightly at their eagerness. "yup. coffee, food, the whole shabang" i said with a smile. And that's exactly what happened...
later that day we met up at the coffee shop, a smile plastered on my lips, i sat with my icee coffee at a two person table. i waited, a good hour and a half, before i got up and left. my time hadn't gone too much to waste, i read while i waited, but once i left, i sent him a message. A message to give him a small piece of my mind. Once i got home i headed straight to my bedroom, ignoring any and every type of social interaction from my family. i flopped down on my bed and called Hannah.
"Ooooh! i'm so done!" i said as soon as i heard her say 'hello'. anger and annoyance seeped from my mouth.
"oh my gosh... what happened this time?!" she asked, not too prepared for the next 4 words she was about to hear.
"He stood me up." i said, obviously annoyed.
"that asshole!" she exclaimed, i could picture rolling her eyes and making her 'i will fight someone' face.
"i know... don't worry though! we're over. and you know what?! that's one if the reasons why we broke up in the first place." i said shaking my head "Old habits never die, Han" i says with a sigh.
"very true" she said with a click of her tongue. And with that the we ended the conversation with a goodbye. I ended up starting some summer assignments that needed to be done by mid august, if course to me it was just busy work.
the next few weeks went by without any sort of contact from Asher. And i wasn't trying to contact him, so i wasn't at all surprised.
Soon school came around and as soon as everyone had finished their back to school shopping, i got a text message from the great Asher Parks.Asher//
Asher: hey, Charlie
i decided not to respond. He really didn't deserve my attention. So once i got home, i showered, got into my pj's then went to sleep. well i tried to, but that meaningless text kept creeping into my mind, keeping me from resting. In Result, i reached for my phone and opened my messages, clicked on his name, and began to type out my reply. it didn't take long for my phone to buzz with his response.
Asher//
me: hey...
Asher: Charlotte, thank God! I'm really sorry about not reaching out to you after our night at that fair, and then not meeting you for coffee... and then not talking to you for a good few weeks....
me: Mhm, you sure seemed sorry while you it was happening. It kind of felt like radio silence on my end but...
Asher: i know it was a dick move but something came up...
and no! it's not an excuse but if you'd give me a chance to explain myself, i promise it's not something stupid.me: Asher, i don't wanna play games. i'm tired of that immature kind of shit, if you wanna talk we can meet at forest park tomorrow at noon. and i'm not waiting longer than 5 minutes.
Asher: alright, deal. tomorrow forest park at noon. i promise i won't be late.
me: i'm trusting you...
Asher: I won't mess this up again Charlie, you must be tired though, so good night Charlotte, i'll see you tomorrow.
me: goodnight

I'm not easy, he just has this affect on me, it's not negative, it's not positive, he just has me dangling on his fingertips.
I plan to make this time around harder. I wont allow what happened 2 years ago, repeat itself.I set my phone back onto my night table, pulling my white, yellow, red and pink floral duvet over my body.
