When the seat belt lights were turned off, everybody let out a loud sigh of relief at the same time — they had made it! The ship was now finally in orbit, trying to connect back to the command centre back on earth as they check the orbit traffic.
Eleanor leans back on her seat and her face clearly states that she is exhausted, to which Chan noticed and he gives her a small smile of encouragement. She's still processing where she is now, all she could see ahead of her and beyond the wide windows were an endless sea of darkness.
However, before she could say anything, a loud thump came from the back of the room, making all heads turn toward the source of sound.
And there he was, with all his glory and cheeky smile was Han Jisung grinning down at his team members, rubbing his head (that was still thankfully covered with the helmet) that hit the ceiling of the cockpit — yes, he was floating. The young astronaut flips slowly in the air, his arms and legs spread out so he twirls like a starfish.
"Don't mind me... just got a little excited," he tells them from up there but when he tries to move, he bumps his head once more and cries out in annoyance.
"This is why we should've left him behind, he never listens," Chan mutters before telling the boy to stay still. Jisung seemed to have heard him as he lets out a whine of protest from somewhere near the ceiling.
Eleanor snickers, not bothering to hear Jisung's now babbles of fascination as her hand reaches out to the gravity boost and flicks the switch. She feels the entire ship shift a little and suddenly, another thump was heard. Jisung had fallen, quite literally too, from the sky.
She could hear Youngbin chortle up with laughter and watches as she clips off her seat belts and run over to the fallen boy. In the midst of her laughter, she helps him up (not without her teasing him in between) and tells him he's being an idiot.
"This will be a chaotic expedition," Eleanor mumbles to herself as she takes off her own belt, letting her feet touch down on the floor.
The boy next to her snorts. "Tell me about it," Minho says as he proceeds to take off his helmet before tucking it under his arm, rolling his eyes. "Honestly, I think these fancy clothes are unnecessary. Judging from what we went through just then, it would've been better if I went in my pyjamas."
"Formalities, darling," Eleanor pats his back after she too takes off her helmet and sets it on her chair. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, she pulls out a sheet of paper full of scribbles and dot points. It sparks Minho's interest and he shifts closer to the girl.
"Woah... what's that?" Minho asks curiously, snatching the paper away from her and reads over it with a twisted expression.
"To-do list once we get in orbit," the girl shrugs, "whatcha think? Genius, huh?"
"To be honest with you, I love how you made this a while ago thinking positively enough at the thought that we'd survive hurdling through the atmosphere," he voices out, handing the paper back to her, "because I was ready to die, man."
"You have serious existential problems, dude," she tells him.
"Embrace the chaos, they say. I'm just welcoming it with wide fucking arms, ready to engulf it in the biggest hug," Seungmin chimes in, looking over Eleanor's shoulder to see the piece of paper.
"'What-To-Do-After-We-Lift-Off'?" he reads, cocking his head to the side. "So, is this like, a to-do list?"
"Yeah, you want to comment on it like this other guy?" Eleanor directs her thumb in Minho's direction.
"No I'm just saying, we had a seventy percent of dying back then and you write a to-do list of what to do as if like you're super confident we'll make it."
