Joshua Harold's POV

I woke up to the smell of waffles. The only thought running through my mind. "Waffles. Waffles. Waffles." I mumbled tripping down the stairs on each step.

There was a note by my precious.

Dear Joshua, I went out shopping, also I need to meet up with some friends, and then I have some errands to do. I shall be back before nightfall. I need you to take out the trash and greet our new neighbors. Take Johny with you alright? And will you at least try to make friends? Don't forget to feed Beethoven. I shall see you soon. Love, Mom.

I groaned.

Why do I have to take out the trash? Why do I always have to wake Johny up? Why do I have to go and greet our new neighbors anyway?

More questions filled my mind as I finished eating.

I walked upstairs and into Johny's room.

He is ten years older than me and makes me do everything for him.

I saw him sleeping on his messy bed in his messy room.

More cleaning for me to do.

Since I was equipped with whipped cream I poured it onto his open hand. Then I found a smelly sock and held it up to his nose. He raised his hand quickly and smacked his face.

Perfect hit!!!

I then noticed that he would probably kill me for doing that if he found out. If.

I ran into my room and locked the door. For extra protection I hid in my closet and locked the door.

I heard his footsteps outside.

Thump

Thump

Thump

Thump

I noticed that he was going downstirs.

I was safe. . . for  now.

I unlocked all the doors and finally started my chores.

Wake Johny up. . . . .Check

Take out trash. . . . .Check

Feed Beethoven our Bichon Frise. . . . .Check

Greet our neighbors. . . . .Nope

I was never going to greet people on my own.

"Hey Johny?"

"What do you want?" He asked back angrily.

"Mom told me to tell you that we will be greeting our neighbors today, before she gets hom at 7."

"I'm not going, and you are not gonna tell her that alright?"

I just nodded in reply.

"Good now here's a list of my chores for you to do if they aren't completed, I will tell mom and dad about Shannon."He said menacingly while handing me a sheet of paper with a million chores on it.

"But I was planning on doing something else?" I said weakly hoping that there was a way out of this.

"Forget about what you were planning to do and get to work! I will be leaving to meet some friends of mine, and when I get back I expect that all of those should be completed. Alright? Now go." He said pointing into his room.

I nodded sadly.

"I'll be back at 6 pm."

I looked over at the clock. It turned exactly 6:48 am.
