:: Prologue ::
oh, don't you dare look back
just keep your eyes on me
i said you're holding back,
he said shut up and dance with me
this boy is my destiny
he said ooh
shut up and dance with me

Walking into a club, the last thing you would ever expect to do would be falling in love. Places like these were meant to keep love at bay. Love wasn’t supposed to be felt here.
Clubs were reserved for only one emotion, and that was lust.Lust. The basis of any kind of sexual contact, and that was what clubs were all about. Clubs were about letting go of your worries; forgetting the outside world and caring only about yourself and your own pleasure; they were about drinking, having fun, and losing yourself in the music or in the body of another.
But tonight wasn’t that kind of night. I didn’t throw myself onto the dance floor with drink in hand. I didn’t seek out for a new conquest to take back to my apartment. I didn’t feel anything but the alcohol coursing through my veins, the heavy bass pounding in my ears, and the electric feeling that suddenly zapped its way through my body.
Tonight was different, I could already tell. The atmosphere had changed drastically right as I walked through the doors into the lively building that was already booming with loud music and filled with hundreds of other club-goers.
I didn’t know what was going to be so different about tonight. It seemed like any other night at the night club, but a nagging feeling in the back of my mind was telling me otherwise. That there was an actual reason for this weird feeling in my chest.
I stayed where I was, at my perch near the bar, leaning back against the edge of the counter with a drink held loosely in my hand. I wasn’t sure what I was doing. It was weird just standing there with nothing to do.
By now, I would have already grabbed a random girl off the dance floor and taken her to the bathroom, adding her to my ever-growing list of sexual escapades. But none of the girls here looked anywhere close to appealing. Too slutty. Too drunk. Too loud. Too emotional. I wouldn’t have minded any of them if I was a little more drunk than my rather buzzed stupor.
Changing my initial interests, I switched my gaze over to the guys that were on the dance floor. I didn’t have much luck either. They were no better than the girls that stumbled off with their too-high, ankle-breaking heels.
I was losing interest. I was getting restless. Wasn’t tonight supposed to be different?
If “different” meant “lame,” then I wouldn’t have gone out clubbing in the first pla—
You know those moments where you can feel like everything’s been slowed down and you just have to stop for a moment to just gape at the sight before you?
That was what happened to me the moment I laid my eyes on the most beautiful creature in the world.
His long legs seemed to go on forever.
His hips were mesmerizing as they swayed skillfully along to the beat of the music blaring overhead.
He was lean and perfect and everything I imagined an angel to look like.
Was I in heaven?
The strobe lights bounced off his golden locks so beautifully that I almost forget to breathe for a moment, but that one thing that got me was his face.
His face. The epitome of beauty. His eyes were closed, but I could just tell how deep he was into the music. His thin lips were parted, and my mind went straight to overdrive. I imagined the feeling of his lips on my own; how soft they would be against my skin.
I never even met the guy, and I was already thinking of ways to screw him on every inch of my apartment.
I glanced to either side of me, hoping that no one had noticed my little gape fest on Mr. Tall, Blond, and Handsome, but when I turned back I was met with the piercing gaze of the same guy that I had been gawking at for the past five minutes. I felt like all the wind had been knocked right out of my chest.
The small smile that graced his lips just right about killed me.
He looked like he didn’t mind the staring. In fact, he was beckoning me towards him.
My movements were almost robotic and stiff as my feet brought me to my destination.
And before I knew it, I found myself right in front of the blond Adonis.
“I noticed you were staring at me,” Mr. Tall, Blond, Handsome muttered smoothly into my ear. I was supposed to be the smooth talker, but damn, I already felt weak in the knees just listening to him speak. Even his voice was beautiful.
I almost forgot how to speak for a moment. Here I was, actually talking to the blond angel that I had been staring for quite sometime now. I needed to take back the reigns of the conversation, before I could let my guard down. A smirk found its way onto my face as I formulated a response with the right amount of flirt and charm.
“You were too beautiful, it was kinda hard not to stare.”
The laughter that bubbled from the angel’s lips was the most beautiful sound that I have ever heard. Now, all I wanted to do was make him laugh just so I could heard that wonderful sound over and over again.
“So what’s your name, Pretty Boy?” I continued, voicing my question close to his ear so he would be able to hear me over the loud music.
“Riker. Yours?” Pretty name for the pretty face.
“Ross.”:: --- ::
