"Wait what?" Jeramiah's face was full of confusion. "What are you talking about? I don't have a mate."
"Yes you do. Who told you you don't have a mate?"I was starting to get angry. How dare someone tell him that? Everyone has a mate.
"My brother told me that I didn't have a mate because she wasn't in our pack. He started telling me everyday when our dad wasn't paying attention. I had finally had enough after a year of him telling me that, so I left."
Suddenly, I hugged him tightly. He was tense at first but almost immediately relaxed. "You are my mate..." He breathed out against my shoulder. "I knew he was lying. He just said I didn't have a mate so many times I guess I started to believe him."
When he metioned his old pack again I realized, I didn't know what pack he was from.
"What pack are you from?"
"StarFang, why?"
"Hah, you're kidding right?" I asked, extremely hopeful that he was.
"No, why? What's wrong?"
"Aw shit. Shit, shit, SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I quickly turned and punched the wall as hard as I could, causing it to send cracks up the wall, vibrating the whole house. Everyone knew I was the only one who could punch a wall and make the whole house shake.
"Honey, what's wrong? Please tell me, I can't stand seeing you this upset."
When he said that, my heart melted. Like, I actually think it melted. Then I made a move completely out of instinct. I unlocked the chains on his wrists and slammed my lips against his. My hands instinctively found their way in his hair, pulling him impossibly closer to me. When he put his hands on either side of my face and deepened the kiss I knew he loved me. I knew he was my true mate. All the stories my mother told me as a child were true.
Finally, I pulled away gasping for air. Resting his forehead on mine, he said "I love you."
