Chapter 1 (Introduction)

Anyway, I'm going to have most of this story in third person because... because I just feel more comfortable with that... I'll update when I can, but anyways, here's some OC sheets for my main characters.

Andalusite is usually very curious about natural life, specifically the ocean. Her wings function like hummingbird wings, letting her zip around easily, though takeoff is sometimes difficult when shes wet. Despite how much she loves the ocean, she can't swim and is unable to fight underwater. Her weapon is a mix of the Amethyst's whip and the Ruby's blade to make a swinging blade. Even though the Ruby and Amethyst aren't usually wanting to fight, Andalusite is ready to beat up anyone who gets in her way. She gets her hate for the diamonds from the fact that if it was discovered that the ruby and amethyst fused, they would either be shattered or harvested.

M'kay, anyways, Blue Diamond let Yellow Diamond borrow an Amethyst soldier to lead the mission to earth since the ruby is weak. 

"Amethyst Facet 5X at your sevice-"

"Ruby Facet G4551 here!"

Yellow diamond looked down on the two low-class gems. "You have been chosen to check on the Prime Kindergarden. Re-activate it if you can, and don't forget to check up on the Delta Kindergarden. The Earth will no longer be left unused. Your ship is waiting outside."

The amethyst gave the diamond symbol with her wrists and grabbed the ruby that would be accompanying her, tucking it under her arm like an object. She marched onto the ship and set the coordinates for earth.

During the trip, they didn't talk much, except for when the amethyst had to constantly order the ruby to stop touching everything. Of course, the ruby barely listened at all, wanting to mess with every control on the ship. "Just sit still already!" the amethyst had exclaimed several times throughout the trip.

They were now nearing their destination, entering the atmosphere, when a loud beeping sound rang throughout the entire ship. The amethyst startled and looked around. She growled when she saw the ruby hanging from a lever like a monkey. She ran over and grabbed the ruby but it was too late. They had been thrown off course and were going to crash somewhere in the huge blue expanse.

The ruby yelped as she looked out the window and realized what she had just done. The amethyst was about to yell at her when everything went up in noise and flames. She quickly grabbed the ruby and tore a hole in the ship to get them out.

Smoke rose above the trees on the island, the ship burning strongly.
The two stared at the fallen ship blankly, having no idea what to do next.


~five hours later~


The sun was beginning to set and the amethyst was standing at the shore, looking out over the ocean while the ruby was climbing around in the trees. The ruby found a coconut and ran over the rocks, to the amethyst. "I have found something! What is this!" She threw it at the amethyst.
The amethyst caught it just before it hit her and rolled her eyes. "We should focus on finding the kindergarden...!"

The ruby rolls her eyes and stomps back to the cluster of trees. She mumbled under her breath, "Well, I don't think there's a kindergarden underwater..."
The amethyst just sighed and continued looking over the ocean.

After a few minutes the ruby runs back up to the amethyst holding a bough of bananas over her head. "I have found another thing!" She sighed and dropped the bananas when she got next to the amethyst. "Are you just going to stand there forever?" She shook the amethysts arm when she didn't respond. Their gems started glowing, the while glow spreading over both of them. The white light gathered into an orb and then took several shapes before stopping on one and reforming. Andalusite stood there, confused. "W-what the..." She flashed white again and the amethyst and the ruby separated. They stared at each other in confusion.

They were staring at each other for what felt like years but it was only a few seconds. A sharp wind picked up over the ocean, breaking the silence. The amethyst stood up and took a deep breath. "Let's... not ever talk about that again..." She resumed her serious look and started walking towards the ship debris. The ruby hopped up and followed after a few seconds.

The amethyst threw pieces of the ship around, trying to find something that would help them communicate with homeworld, but found nothing. She took a deep breath and walked back up to ruby, who was standing there watching her.

Amethyst 5X sighed. "Ruby G4551, We need to get off this... thing... and find the kindergarden... Will you fuse with me?"
The ruby stared at her blankly before nodding slowly.

They grabbed each others hands and glowed for a few seconds, taking several shapes, before Andalusite stood there again, staring around curiously. She was just a foot and a half taller than the ruby, so she wasn't nearly as big as fusions like Opal and Garnet.

Her wings started buzzing and she slowly rose in the air, staring around before she laughed and zipped up higher. She was a bit surprised at her own speed, but looked over the ocean in wonder before flying out over it, dodging seagulls as she neared land.

She flew closer to the water and ran her hand threw the waves before spinning her way back up, higher into the clouds.

She few back down and landed on the lighthouse, looking out over the city while her wings slowly stopped buzzing.

"What are those... things..." She whispered to herself, staring out over the houses. Her thin wings flitted like paper against the breeze as she sat down on the edge.
