••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••"Avery will you please listen to me!" Mom called again. Pulling the earphones from my ear, "Sorry." I grinned sheepishly. "As I was saying," mom continued dramatically. Don't get me wrong I love my mom but she tends to overdramatise things. Like a lot. "I know the move is a big one, but don't worry, you'll make lots of new friends."
Mom, Jake and I all moved down to California from London. The thing with mom was she works a lot, and after our dad left and the divorce came through, mom decided to move away. A fresh start.
"Don't worry mom, I'll be fine." I wasn't exactly a good girl in my old school, neither was I a bad girl. I don't know what I am. I've never missed a day of school or a class, I'm always on time, straight a's, never in trouble.
Okay scratch that, I'm a good girl but I have my moments.
Although there is one thing I learned from my old school. Guys are dogs. Not all. But the players. From my friends past mistakes, I know never to trust a player. After my dad walked out on us, you could say it left me with trust issues.
I've never had a boyfriend, never been kissed, but not because I'm ugly, although that does contribute to why no guy wants me, but I'm saving myself for that one guy.
"I better go sleep, got school in the morning." Tomorrow scared me, it's not going to be easy being the new kid.
At my old school, my friend Lexi was the new girl, and well, I remember her telling me. You don't know anything, and you're scared in case you don't fit in. I told mom this, but she says it's normal, because according to her, I'm a little 'stress ball'' God knows what that means.
Brushing my teeth, I change into my panama shorts and tank, tying up my long wavy brown hair before going to sleep. Time to dream about candy, chocolate, and Francisco Lachowski... Mmmm... Lachowski...
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••My mom and brother stood in the doorway laughing their heads off as they saw me tangled on the floor. How did I get like this May you ask.. Well:
(Ten minutes ago)
Beep
Beep
Bee..SMACK!
My alarm stopped, causing me to grin and fall back asleep. "AVERY ELIZABETH SUMMERS, IF YOU ARE NOT OUT OF THAT BED IN TEN SECONDS, THERE WILL BE NO PANCAKES FOR YOU!!" Pancakes! "I'm up! I'm up!!! Gimme pancakes!!!"
Not realizing my blanket was tangled with my feet, I ended up flat on the ground, causing my mom and brother to laugh at my misfortune in the doorway. "Told you!" My brother wheezed out to my mom. "Nice guys. Just nice." I said sarcastically, pretending to be angry at them. I'm a klutz, I knew that, and so did they.
My older brother Jake walked over to me, extending a hand out for me. "I'm sorry Ave." he grinned at me, as I reached for his hand and began to pull myself, he let go, causing me to fall back on the floor. Jake and mom exploded in laughter, while I'm pretty sure my butt is bruised.
"Screw you!" I huffed in annoyance, Jake laughed while mom scolded me for my language. "Jake that wasn't nice." Mom said in a fit of giggles, "and Avery do not swear, it's unladylike." She said as she bought her coffee to her lips. "Shit!" She cursed as she burnt her tongue. Jake and I just raised an eyebrow at her. We all began to laugh again.
