note: these are my personal opinions on these songs.

All I Want- Kodaline

3/10.

All of the Stars (Soundtrack Version)- Ed Sheeran

7/10. quite sad. especially when you know what movie it's from, then it gets worse.

Already Gone- Sleeping At Last

6/10. sadder than the original, due to the sad tune and voice.

America- Alec Benjamin

4/10. not that sad, but the concept of it is.

Angel- Kodaline

8/10. the song itself isn't crazily sad, but the story is. it was written and sung as tribute to a young fan who died.

Atlas: Hearing- Sleeping At Last

7/10. this song makes you... feel.

Atlas: Nine- Sleeping At Last

4/10.

Atlas: Sorrow- Sleeping At Last

9/10. truly explains what sorrow feels like.

Atlas: Touch- Sleeping At Last

5/10.

Awake, Oh Awake My Joel- Jon Hillman

8/10. a song that directly represents the calm before the storm.

Boys in the Street- A Great Big World

8/10. a song about one of the artist's experiences with growing up liking boys, and having a homophobic father.

Boys Like You (Acoustic)- Anna Clendening

5/10.

Boys Will Be Boys- Benny

2/10. less sad of a song, it's about how toxic masculinity and stereotypes affect the artist. i highly recommend watching the music video.

Breathe Me- Sia

9/10. sad words, sad tune, sad meaning.

Brother (Acoustic)- Kodaline

2/10. not that sad, it's more about what it makes you think of.

Bruises- Lewis Capaldi

9/10. a song about having a heart broken. Capaldi has a very powerful voice, and really makes you feel.

Can't Help Falling in Love- Haley Reinhart

6/10. a song about falling in love, but not wanting to because you know it's not reciprocated.

changes- XXXTENTACION

9/10. very raw song, unlike most rap songs.

Chasing Cars- Snow Patrol

8/10. very powerful, really makes you... sad.

Colors That Heal- Jon Hillman

10/10. a song with a desperate tune. and the story behind it is even more saddening. Colors That Heal is a song from the indie game, That Dragon, Cancer. That Dragon, Cancer, is a game about the developer's son, Joel, who had serious, terminal cancer. Colors That Heal is played in the game scene Dehydration, where Joel is crying and screaming because he is in a lot of pain. i cannot do it justice here, so i highly recommend you look it up. especially when youtubers react to it.
