"BUZZ" a really annoying buzzing was coming from my alarm clock. That thing is seriously ancient you'd think it was my grandpa's age, which it is. I barely cracked my eyes open just barely being able to read the time, 6 AM is what it read. I groaned in frustration not wanting to be bothered with school, throwing the blanket off of me my body is hugged by the bone chillingly cold air of Arcdale. "Great, I love this" sarcasm laced in my voice like venom. I swing my long legs over the edge of my bed making sure to caress the soft plush carpet with my cold toes. After getting up and beginning the very short journey to my closet I cast a quick glance at my calendar that has a picture of kittens for each month, "right it's parent teacher conference day, how could i forget...I can't stall for time anymore I need to get dressed.'' I don't like standing out so I just thrown on a gray hoodie and black leggings, I like being basic. With my backpack in hand I exit my room and make my way towards the bathroom
I scanned the hallway to see if my mother was awake, she wasn't so I walked quietly to make sure not to wake her. Once I reached the safety of the bathroom I ran my green hairbrush through my long waist length wavy brown hair only brushing halfway. When I started brushing my teeth I heard her, la diabla herself. I mentally prepared myself for the events that are sure to come. ''Alejandra? you there?'' the soft and deceiving voice of my mother echoes through the hallway, the 5'3 woman was standing in front of me as i towered over her with my 5'11 build. ''I just wanted to tell you don't come home tonight i've got company coming over'' my mother is a beautiful woman and was even more so in her prime, she had wavy brown shoulder length hair, crows feet around her eyes that somehow gives her a young refreshing look, and beautiful chocolate brown eyes. When she laughed her laugh was contagious, too bad her bad attitude and personality made her ugly she lives in the fast lane and unfortunately I'm not fast enough to keep up. ''what about parent conferences?'' you'd think as a junior in high school those dumb things wouldn't matter but they do. ''no es importante '' her tone was very nonchalant ''es muy importante mamá'' she only rolled her eyes in response. ''It's at 2 pm in case you were thinking of coming'' she nodded her head as she spun around to go back to her devilish hideout, that's when I noticed the giant soda cup in her hand but I knew there wasn't any soda inside. I checked the time on my watch and I saw that it read 6:50 AM ''crap!'' I snatching up my backpack I sped out the door and hopped on my bike.
The cold air felt nice blowing in my hair, bike rides always feel good they're calming and when I ride it feels like time just stops like it's just my bike and I. Before I knew it my ride was over, I was right in front of Saint Martha's high school. Locking up my bike nice and secure I head inside for the tortures today has to offer . ''What's up chica?'' my best friend Ana was always so cheerful in the morning. Ana and I were complete opposites, I was a pessimistic downer and she was an optimistic ray of sunshine. Ana was, is, the popular girl at school, she's a very beautiful girl with above average looks and an above average personality. We've been best friends since kindergarten, she's always been an older sister to me, protecting me and keeping me out of trouble although trouble always has a way of finding me. ''Hi Ana'' she threw her arms around me, embracing me in a hug. ''how'd you sleep?'' she asked, her eyes were open wide in excitement revealing her hazel colored eyes. Ana is as tan and Mexican as can be but her eyes were hazel like she won the gene lottery. ''I slept good, how did that thing with Caesar go?'' Caesar was Ana's ''boyfriend'', it's complicated. She unwrapped her arms from around me and her bright radiant smile turned to a sad one. ''Let's not talk about that now'', she fidgeted with her long curly brown hair indicating that something was wrong. However before I could ask bout it the bell rang, triggering the stampede of students rushing to class and the others rushing off to bathrooms to skip.
