Them (on hold)

Phase 2

      As I was trying to fall asleep that night, my body started to ache. I just couldn't fall asleep. My gut was twisted in a knot.
      I got up to grab a drink of water. Which, not to mention, was totally against their rules. If you are wondering what the rules are, here's the list,

1. You are to never go outside
2. Leaving your bedroom after 10:30 pm               is an automatic violation
3. Usage of cell phones will be tracked and held against your will.

By just getting up to get a drink I was breaking the rules. It was 11:37 pm, but i had done it so many times before and they hadn't noticed.
      I went to the kitchen and grabbed a cup. Slowly, I turned the faucet to cold.
      That's when it happened. Out of no where I heard a noice behind me. I was about to turn around when a hand cupped over my mouth.
      They were here, taking me.
I kicked, punched, and screamed at them, trying my best to get free. My throat was numb from screaming, but so was my mind. They had a firm grip on my arm and I realized there was no escaping. I thought if I screamed loud enough, I could at least wake up my mom, but then I stopped. Stopped moving, stopped screaming, stopped everything.
I didn't want to wake my mom. If I woke her, she would get taken too. So, I just let them. I didn't fight back anymore. One of them took my legs and pulled me out the door.
