Chapter 14

"Okay, unlocking door in three...two...unlock" Nolan announced into the earpiece Aidan was currently wearing.

"Thank you Ross" Aidan replied curtly.

A thick steel door unlocked and Aidan pushed it open to find a starch white hallway ahead of him. Dim lights flickered above him.

"Your welcome Mr Bond" Nolan smirked.

Aidan ran through a couple of deserted hallways to the new part of the hospital. He walked through another steel door into the hospital reception, slowing his pace to a slow walk.

"Alright, I'm in" Aidan muttered. "What room?"

"According to the hospital database, shes in room 356" Nolan replied, the sound of fast typing in the background. "The guards change stations in exactly two minutes, then you'll have five minutes to grab Emily and go. The driver knows where hes going"

Aidan watched the door. A big guard wearing a black suit and black earpiece stood sternly at the entrance to Emily's room. Behind the man's bulky body Aidan could just about make out the face of Emily. His Emily. His pregnant Emily?

That was a question Aidan had refused to ask himself. Was it his baby? He and Emily hadn't always been safe. But there was the possability it was Daniels. Emily had assured him they she and Daniel hadn't been intimate since she and Aidan had gotten back together, but surely they must have been recently for Daniel to believe that Emily was pregant. And now she was pregnant...

"What are you at Mathis?!" Nolan shouted through the earpiece, shaking him out of his daydream. "Go! You only have exactly 9.45 seconds left".

Aidan walked towards the room and opened the transparent door slowly, shutting quickly behind him and drawing the curtain.

"Emily" he gasped when he saw her. He grabbed a wheelchair before leaning over her and kissing her cool forehead.

"Theres an ambulance waiting for us downstairs. I've arranged for medical attention to meet us at the safehouse"

He brushed the hair back off her pale face, his heart beating fast with the adrenaline of the kidnap and the joy at seeing Emily alive.

"P-Please dont hurt me" she begged recoiling away from his hand on her cheek. "Who are you?"

Aidan took a step back from her, his brow furrowing. What was wrong with her?

"Emily its me" Aidan replied his voice quivering.

Suddenly she leaned over the bed grabbing the control and pressing the red emergency button.

"E-E-Emily?" Aidan asked, panic evident in his voice. "What are you doing?"

"Help me!" Emily called towards the door. "Somebody"

Aidan walked slowly back towards the open window, glancing at the door.

Hearing the door open behind the curtain he glanced at Emily one last time and jumped out the window crouching down just as a doctor looked out over the greenery that surrounded the hospital.

"There was a man, he wanted to take me out of here. He jumped out the window" The distress evident in her voice"

Slowly he got up and ran along the perimetre of the hospital building towards the carpark.

Safely back inside his black SUV he stopped for a moment, resting his head on his hands.

She really couldnt remember him. She couldnt remember that she loved him, she she was going to run away with him, that she was carrying his child.

He had thought that her amnesia was just a ploy while she was surrounded by the enemy, unable to escape. He assumed that this was another one of Emily's great matermind plans. He was wrong.

Emily was gone.

Updated for the third Saturday in a row. Im on a roll. Again I was in a good mood. My basketball team won our match 34-18 to a school that we have spent many years trying to beat. Further updates should be coming soon x
