Even at a young age I knew what my father was doing.
The young girl lightly knocked on the door.
"Father?" She said in a soft, and light voice. She stood outside a large wooden door. The basement was dimly lit by a few light bulbs.
"...Father?Are you in there?"
The door finally swung open, as a man wear a lab coat and mask, splattered in blood appeared.
"Father!"She ran over to hug him.
He pushed her away, as he kneeled in front of her. "Aya!How many times have I told you! Not to come down here?!" He scolded her.
"I am sorry,..father..it just um..I am to scared to sleep on my own." She stared at her shoes.
"Aya..don't worry you are never alone.." He said, Aya looked up as her eyes met her fathers."Your late mother is always at your side. She is always looking out for you."
Aya smiled at her father's reassuring words.
"Okay,Now please get back to bed.." He said.
She nodded, and started up the hallway she came.
"Good girl."
She then stopped and turned back around. "Hey...father...tomorrow is..."Aya began.
"Yes...it is the anniversary of her death." Her father said. "We shall visit her grave tomorrow"
Aya smiled again."Okay."
"Now..back to bed please, I shall, too be resting shortly."
His daughter nodded and started walking away.
She stopped as she heard the wooden door shut with a creak behind her. She peered over her shoulder, staring at the wooden door shutting close.
She paused, then walked forward again, up the dim lit hallway.
A loud plea, from behind the door making her stop dead in her tracks. Her blood seeming to run cold."S-stop! "The sound of a chainsaw came from behind the shut door. "No! Help me! Help! The chainsaw sounded off once more, cutting off the screaming.
Aya walked up the stairs, and out of the basement, the sounds fading behind her. She closed the door behind her; the sound of the chainsaw completely gone from her hearing. She was deep in thought as she walked through her family's mansion, and towards her own room just above the basement.
I know my father's secret. My father is a scientist. He loves his research, he is always locked up in that basement. I have always heard things from that lab. Human and animal screams....horrifying screams.....even at a young age, I always knew what my father was doing....so I pretended not to notice; I pretended that I didn't know or hear anything...I feigned ignorance the whole time because...I love my father. But..that's not the only secret I know...when my mother and I weren't around, he and his helper....
