Soon after I had fallen asleep, I had quickly began dream. I was so far in REM sleep that waking up wasn't an option. Once I had started to process the pictures of the dream the roller coaster ride began.
In this dream I was standing in the middle of no where yet there was still a town. I never knew where I was or anyone there for that matter, all I knew was I was lost and was needing to find a way back home. I walked and walked for miles till I finally reached the town. But along the way all I could see were these warning signs. "Beware of the snake..." that's all the signs would say. I found it odd it only said a singular snake though. As I reached town I had saw this woman, she was bleeding out of her side but paid no mind to it. I had asked her if she was ok and where we were. All she responded with was "there is no need to fear the bite." I didn't understand what she had meant but I wanted to get away for as she was leering off an eerie feeling. I began to walk quickly and as far away from her as possible soon running in to another woman in front of what seemed to be an old grocery store. She was way more polite and less, well crazy I suppose you'd call it. Once I had asked her the same questions we sat down on a bench and she explained as much as she could. "This town has no name, but yet is known for one thing." She had said very elusively, continuing her explanation you could see as fear began to grow in her eye and face. "Once you get bit you can't leave, it won't let you. It being the snake that owns this ghost town." I didn't quite understand how only a singular snake could ruin or impact peoples lives so much. I tried to ask a few more questions but she didn't last long after the first few, as if something was holding her tongue. Magic? Poison? Drugs? The venom? I never knew what it was but I sure as hell didn't want to find out. I rested a little while inside the town because I just walked for what seemed like days, but it was only for a few hours. I decided to finally leave town before the sun had set.
As I walked I could just see the miserable people including elderly and children losing their sanity over this bite. I kept walking but out of nowhere the ground became a rushing river and I was being sucked in to it. I had found a path that had holes I could stick my feet and hands in to climb out. But what after I had just heard either I took my chances with drowning or the curse. For some odd unknown reason I took my chances with the snake. Each time I put my hand a hole to pull myself upwards out of the rushing river I had a feel I was going to be bitten. Once I had gotten out the river I had laid flat on my back to catch my breath, though it was insanely difficult. I had waited to the sun had dried me off a bit before getting up again. But once I had gotten up and turned around I saw it. I saw it sitting in the tree patiently waiting for me. I had walked closer to this beautiful creature. A pit viper with scales of copper, mud red and black with jade and emerald green eyes. I wanted to touch it but every inch of my body screamed not to so I just admired it from a distance before it had nodded it head and disappearing.
When I woke up I'd never been more confused and yet intrigued in my entire life. I'd never seen such a snake as that one I'd seen in my dream, but to think that this was all only a dream an not a reality is was shocked me the most. It had all felt so real that it was unreal at the same time.
