I just can't hold it in anymore. Not after father hit Camden in the face. And father calling me the worst names a father should never tell their own daughter. And he starts beating me for no reasons. I'm sitting here crying as I start cutting myself with a razor. Then my phone goes off.

Ashton.

"Y-Yes?"I question with a sniffle.

"Are you okay?"he questioned. More alarm.

"I'm-" I hesitate. "fine."

"You don't sound like you're fine."he says.

"I am, I'm just watching a sad movie."I lie.

"Hm,"
He doesn't sound too convinced.

I cut and accidentally went too deep. I wince.

"Are you sure that you are okay? You know you can tell me anything."he says.

"I'm fine Ash, I just stubbed my pinkie toe on the edge of a table,"I tell him.

Still doesn't sound too convinced.

"I got to get going."I tell him.

"Okay........... Bye.."he slowly say.

I hang up.

I softly start to cry. I'm pushing him away! I hate myself for that! I'm pushing someone that cares about me away!
He actually cares about me and I'm pushing him away! Telling him lies! Making him not going to believe in me anymore!
I hate it!

I put the razor in my pocket as I cover up my wrist with bracelets. I put my phone in my pocket and I walkout of my room.

Just seeing Camden with a bruise on his face makes me more upset.

I walk into his room. Which the door is open. He's playing games on his phone.

He looks up at me.

"You want to go out?"I question.

"Where?"he ask.

"Going to the store. To get out of here."I say.

He jumps up.

Then put on his sweatshirt.

I nod.

Then we start heading to the door. Trying not to wake dad up.
He's passed out on the couch. And it's almost eight.

We walkout and start heading to the store. aka Dollar General.

"How's your face?"I question.

"It hurts! It's like I got hit by a brick!"he exclaim.

"I hate him even more that he hit you."I mumble.

"I already do hate him for even treating us like we're crap."he says.
•••••

We got to the Dollar General.

Not much people in here. Only a guy my age, an elderly lady, a fat woman and the only cashier.

Dang, this place is dead after six.

"Oh my, you want some ice?"the cashier ask Camden.

"I'm good, thanks anyways."he pleaded.

Then start playing with the sleeves of his black All Time Low sweatshirt.

"Here, you can buy yourself a drink or candy."I tell him while handing him some cash.

"Okay."he says before walking off.

Then I felt someone tapping me on the shoulder.

I jump and realized that it's Ashton.

"Oh, what are you doing here?"I question.

"Thought of coming here so that I can think."he shrug.

"About what?"I ask.

"About how we are. Its like you are pushing me away Alex. And I don't know why. It's like you are always lying to me."he says.

My heart starts beating real fast.

"Ash, I'm so sorry."I whisper.

"If you are sorry, then why are you pushing me away?"he questions while crossing his arms across his chest.

"You don't understand."I say as tears fill up my eyes.

"Understand what?"he ask.

"Everything! It's like you have a perfect life! A perfect family that actually loves you! A parent that actually loves you and your siblings! A home that doesn't feel like hell! You just don't understand!"I exclaim.

Feeling awkward since I'm the only loud one in the quiet, lonely Dollar General.

"What do you mean I have a perfect life?"he questions.

"I can't tell you,"I whisper.

"Why can't you tell me? Now you are pushing me away again,"he says.

"Look, no matter how much I want to tell you. I just can't,"I whisper.

"You know that I won't judge you."he says softly.

"I don't know,"I sigh.

"You know I would never tell anyone,"he says while touching my shoulder.

I shuffle.

"Okay sis, I'm ready to go home."Camden sighs.

"Hey, what happen to your eye?"Ashton ask him.

"Reasons,"he tells him.

"What? Now you are pushing me away even I don't know you?"Ashton questions him.

"Ashton, you are overreacting."I say as tears fall from my eyes.

Ashton looks at me. I can tell that he wants to know everything right now by his eyes.
