Chapter 1- Nightmares

Jade's P.O.V

I ran with Shadow up the snowy hill, laughing and trying to catch up. "Hey! Wait up!" I laughed, my tongue lolling around everywhere. He gave a laugh and looked over his shoulder at me- and of course, being Shadow- he taunted me. "Slowpoke!" He called teasingly. I rolled my eyes. " I bet I'd be faster if you didn't get that headstar-" I was interrupted by my face slamming into Shadow. "OOF!" I yelped.

He laughed, and fell onto the ground. I landed on top, our muzzles almost touching. We laughed even harder. He lifted me onto his back, and looked down at the creek evilly. "Shadow! No!" I yelped. He lifted me higher. No!!! Please-" I yelped. He threw me into the freezing water. Ugh! I shivered, walking out of the creek, and pounced for him. He tried to dodge but was unable to. I grabbed his scruff and dragged him into the water. He yelped out a shriek. I laughed, pinning him underwater. He pulled me underwater too and laughed a little bit. We surfaced.

"YOU TWO!" Candor yelled. We snapped our heads to the direction of his voice. "Get back home, your parents are worried sick!" He yelped. I got out, soaking wet, with Shadow at my side. We laughed a little, as we hurried home.

Shadow and I returned quickly, freezing cold. My mother ran to me and hugged my neck affectionately. "You're going to get pneumonia!" My mother exclaimed. I rolled my eyes. "Shadow threw me in!" I yelped teasingly. Shadow rolled his eyes and yelped- "Well you pulled me in!" He teased. Our mothers laughed. "Alright, pups, get to bed!" My mother said, pushing me into a pile of fur. I rolled my eyes. "We're teens, mom." I said, as she covered me up in fur. "Goodnight." Sweet dreams." She murmured.

I let the darkness take me.

I was walking in a dark cave. It was pitch black, I couldn't even see my paws. I had a feeling I wasn't alone. My fur was on end, and I was scared to death. My heart rate excelerated to what seemed hundreds of miles an hour. I saw a pair of eyes, and suddenly a moon appeared. I growled weakly, showing my vulnerability. A growl, savage and feral escaped the body seeming to be attached to the eyes. The wolf suddenly pounced on me and growled. The moon showed his glinting teeth and savage eyes. He layed his long sharp claws on my throat and said one word with a wide smile on his face.

"ShadowDancers."

He made my finale grand-

He ripped my throat out.

Shadow Dancer's P.O.V

I woke to Jade's snout pressing desperately into my side. "Shadow! Shadow please get up!" She whispered loudly. I sat up and blinked my eyes groggily. "What?" I groaned. She was panting a little. "I had a bad dream..." She said quietly. I yawned. "You have my attention." I said. She looked around, scared, her eyes wide with fear. Her silvery fur glinted in the moonlight brightly. "I was in a dark cave.... And no one was there..." She said shakily. I strained to hear. "Eyes appeared......" she murmured. "I faintly recognized them....." She whispered hoarsely. I pondered at her dream. What? I thought. She hesitated on her words, and she continued.

"Those eyes belonged to you, Shadow." She whispered, barely audible. I watched the fear dance in her eyes. "And you said your name..... ShadowDancer. But you made it plural, saying ShadowDancers, as in the legend of ShadowDancers." She said, fear playing through her mind. I could hear her thoughts, and cringed. "And then you killed me without another thought...." she said, nearing tears. I hugged her tightly, and nuzzled her neck. "I would never do anything to hurt you, Jade. You're my best friend. I love you to the moon and back, friendly love, of course." I murmured in to her ear. She hugged me tighter.

I took this moment, for what it was worth, and hugged her back.
