"No, Z."

"No what?"

He drifted to the left lane aggressively, pressing on the brakes as soon as he came close to the car in front of him. Turning to Amari, he furrowed his eyebrows.

"Huh? No to what?"

"You don't have to do it like this."

He ignored her and brought his to the road. It seemed as if was purposefully taking forever to get to Edwin's house as her anxiety rose the closer they got. Sooner or later, he was turning into his subdivision and driving down like a bat out of hell.  It was late, and his bright lights were on as he turned into his driveway.

He unbuckled his seat belt, but as soon as that happened Amari flew over to push it back in to buckle.

"We should talk about what you're about to do, Z."

He looks at her and shakes his head. "Me and Edwin are going to talk. That's all. Why are you so antsy?"

"You know why I am. Do not go in there to fight him, he didn't mean what he did—"

"Mari, are you serious? What he did? You're acting like it's a common mistake. Don't piss me off." He then scooted my hand away but she slapped his in an attempt to keep him held back.

"What are you doing?? What are you about to do?"

"I'm just going to talk to him." He says opening his car door. Right after him, she hops out the car as well and walks up to his front door before Z was anywhere near.

Knocking a few times, she waited patiently as she heard footsteps coming in the house. She turned around them looked up to see Zion standing very close behind.

"Back up,"

"No." She sighed as it was really no use in the first place.

He opened the door and looked at the both of them, a bit confused. Mari's eyes peered from behind Zion, his expression stone cold.

"What's up?"

"We need to talk. Now." He brushes passed Edwin, entering the house leaving her standing alone on the outside. Looking over his shoulder, he watched him sit down on the couch.

"He knows."

There was a pause. Just about along enough to label it awkward. The silence consisted of Ed trying to think of what Z could possibly know of now, in this moment that has him so upset. His eyes met hers again, they widen with fear.

"The fuck does he know exactly?" He snapped quietly under his breath.

She steps closer as if she were just passing him to enter the house. "We kissed." She goes over to the couch to sit over by Zion, who still was very pissed.

Edwin took a moment by the door, sighing heavily before shutting it. He joined the couple by the couch, dreading whatever storm was predicted to come his way.

"Tell me what the fuck you thought you were doing, kissing her." He stated calmly, his hands clasped together as he leaned forward.

"I-"

"Huh?!" The pitch of his voice raised just enough where you could tell he was at the peak of his anger.

Edwin pursed his lips for a moment. "I was trying to comfort her. It looked like she wanted to, so I leaned in. I was doing it to comfort her not to disrespect you in all honestly. If it helps,"

Amari looked back and forth between the both of them. Tension that was built up in the room was suffocating her.  Maybe if she had taken the blame they wouldn't be here— yet here they were.

"Why did you think explaining it was going to make this better. It was a rhetorical question." He stood.

"Get up,"

His eyebrows furrowed, looking up at Zion. He looked over at Mari too, her expression unreadable to him.

He stood without any questioning.

"Alright.  It's done, man. I can't even stand to look at you," He looked over his shoulder.  "Mari, lets go."

She stood and with his hand held out to her, she grabbed it as they made their exit, probably their final one from Edwin's home.  She turned over her shoulder to see him just looking.

Regret was all he could do as if now. He took the fall for a cooperative decision made by the two of them and wouldn't have done it any different.

The couple sat in the car in silence. Nothing to really say after all that. Not even the fact that no one got busted in the face. It wasn't worth commenting to lighten mood. His heart had been shattered, so much so he didn't know if he wanted to be with her anymore.
