Once everyone was mostly full they all laid down to sleep curled around each other for warmth. Kathleen gently moved Yugi close to her so he would be warm through the whole night. I guess you could say he was a Christmas miracle to her.

Soon winter's harsh cold passed and it was springtime again. The three young pups were eager to get outside in the warm heat and the clean grass as they played and chased one another.

Kathleen had managed to get Yugi out of the cave and now he was laying on a small tree branch laying in the sun enjoying its heat.

Kathleen and Isis watched their little ones play while Shaadi stood guard. Ryan and Mahana had gone to do some more hunting keep the pack fed.

Mana runs over to Yugi and hops around him. "Yugi! Yugi! Come and play!" She barks happily but Yugi shook his head making her pout.

"Why not!" She whines and Yugi just purrs enjoying the sun as Isis walks over to them to explain to Mana.

Seth beats his mother to the punchline. "Cats don't play fight. They usually like to sleep." Seth said as Seto snorts. "Yeah good luck learning how to fight then. Mark my words he's not going to last till summer time he's only going to slow us down."

Seto's words hurt Yugi as Kathleen growls and Isis cuffed Seto on the head. Yugi moves around and turns his back on them before sunbathing again.

Kathleen smile proudly up at her little kitten. "He'll learn to fight when he's ready." 'I don't care if he's different. I'm just happy he's mine and I love him dearly.'

Soon Ryan and Mahana came back dragging a small deer carcass that was quite plump. Quite soon the other wolves began to eat happily. Kathleen made sure to pull off a decent chunk for Yugi however he didn't touch it.

Yugi frowns before looking into a small stream with fish. He smiles and jumps down from the tree landing beautifully on his feet.

Kathleen smiles as she walked over to the stream. She quickly smacked at the water as several little fish popped up and landed on the shore as she looked at Yugi and gave him smile.

Yugi watches his mother then the fish and smiles before eating it slowly. Seto grumbled something about pampered felines only to get another cuff from his mother.

Kathleen walked back over to her food and continued eating however she heard Yugi's hungry meows again. She patiently got up as she walked over to the stream and this time got into the deeper water so she could get bigger fish to satisfy Yugi's hunger. She was repeated the same motion as before splash in the water.

Yugi smiles as he jumps into the stream and tried swimming to his mother but was having a hard time since his legs were extremely small. Yugi screeched and jumps out of the water hating the cool feeling of getting wet.

Kathleen gave a gentle woof as she carried the large flopping fish over to her hungry kit. "Oh dear. Kittens don't like water usually do they? Well no matter I don't mind fishing for you anytime you need it my sweet kitten." She gently laid down and licked Yugi's fur dry.

Yugi shakes his head as his ear dropped. Yugi tries to speak only to meow. Kathleen giggles as she licks Yugi's twitching nose.

"You will learn to speak in plenty of time Sweetie. You're only a few months old after all. But you can always practice just don't feel like you have to talk until you're ready though okay?"

Yugi nods his head and eats his fish.
Seto looks like he wants to make a snappy remark however a firm glance from his mother immediately shuts him up. Mana bounces over as Seth shakes his head and follows making sure his sister doesn't tackle their friend as he's much smaller that they are.

Yugi smiles and Mana and licks her ear then jumping onto a rock by the stream. Mana jumps after Yugi frightening him and making him jump into the stream on accident.

The adults turn quickly when they hear the desperate meows as they see the little kitten getting swept up by the stream current

Mana tries to jump in after Yugi but was too scared and looked at Kathleen. Kathleen rush to the edge of the water however the current was too strong for even her. "Yugi! Don't panic we'll save you!"

Yugi thrashes in the water but can't seem to stay at the surface. Yugi was terrified and tried to hold on to something but his claws weren't strong or sharp enough yet at his age.

Yugi went under the water. Just as he felt his little lungs were going to give he heard a splash as a dark form swim towards him and grabbed him by the back of the neck pulling him up with it.

Once Yugi was on shore Yugi immediately scratches at his rescuer from reflex.  A sharp yelp of pain is heard as the dark shadow darts away into the bushes. Kathleen immediately rushes to her baby to make sure that he's okay.

"Mama!" Yugi whimpers as he shivers. His voice was small and soft. "Mama..." Kathleen smiles proudly at her little one and she carefully licks his fur clean. "It's okay Baby, Mama here."

Yugi sighs and relaxes before looking around for the one that saved him. Kathleen notices and looks around too. "Yugi what is it what are you looking for?" She asked softly as she helped Yugi get to his paws.

Yugi blinks seeing crimson eyes staring at him from the bushes before they disappear. Yugi smiles softly before shaking his small head. "Mama..." Yugi whispers again.
