Chapter 15 : His True Potential

"One.. Two.. Three.."

"..Three little humans.. One is a girl.. What a coincidence! You'll be the first ever female human I'll consume!"

As its tongue sticking out, the demon's eyes widened slightly, amused at how many people there are near his territory. He then avert its gaze to each of your sights, making you flinched in your place.

You knew for sure that this demon is not strong. Heck, looking directly to his eyes, you can clearly tell that this man-eating creature is one of the weakest demons you've ever encountered.

But knowing his freakishly long and poisonous tongue, it'll be a challenge to defeat it. Especially with the injuries you've gotten.

Your train of thoughts suddenly got interrupted, when a hand suddenly pulled you away from the place near where the demon stood. You worriedly took a glance at the demon in the distance, preparing himself to have a fun time chasing you three.

Turning your head around, only to be met with Zenitsu's hand tightly grasping yours along with Shoichi's. He desperately wanted to get out of the mansion, sobbing uncontrollably as his feet keeps going. The way the demon spoke earlier must've spooked him in the worst way possible.

You let the male to lead the way, every once in a while turning your head again to the side. The demon with his long tongue was capable to actually follow where Zenitsu is running to, making you subconsciously clicked your own tongue in annoyance.

'So the demon really wanted to eat us that badly, huh?'

Zenitsu, with his amazing ability to hear things within a few meters away, of course noticed the unwelcomed footsteps from the distance behind him. It made him panicked, his face covered in sweats, although he kept on running anyway. You could feel that his body is shivering nonstop as his grip of your hand tightened, not wanting to let both you and Shoichi go. This attitude made you even more worried for him.

"S-S-STOP CHASING US YOU U-UGLY CREATURE! DON'T YOU SEE?!" The yellow-haired male out of nowhere spoke. "W-WE ARE SKINNY AND SWEATS A LOT! OUR FLESH IS NOT WORTH TO BE EATEN BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE ANY!!"

He yelled on top of his lungs as he goes on faster than before, making it harder for you to catch up with his pace.

"Heheh~ I won't know if I haven't try!" You heard the demon replied, sending shivers down to your spine.

A few moments of running passed by, and in result, you three almost ran out of breath. Especially Zenitsu. He had never run this fast in a long period of time, even back during his training times to become a slayer. But he doesn't have the intention to stop anytime soon, otherwise you three are going to get eaten. He'll definitely run for as much as he needs to in order for you all to be far away from being chased by any kinds of demons in this mansion.

Zenitsu caught a glimpse of a door wide open. He doesn't know where it leads him to, but he went inside the room anyway.

Unfortunately, that was a fatal mistake. He stopped on his track and widened his brown-colored eyes at the walls blocking his path.

It was a dead end.

You needed some air from all of that running, but the demon that was chasing you three until now doesn't give you any chance to breath properly. Zenitsu and Shoichi's figure shivered uncontrollably as they made eye contact with the demon that is now standing right outside of the room.

"Haa~ Finally giving up, eh? Don't worry, I'll be sure to eat you three at once, so it won't add too much pain to your limbs!" The demon spoke again, now focusing on your figure that is standing in front of the boys in a protective stance.
