Brooklyn's p.o.v.
I woke up to the usually sound of my alarm going off, but like I always do, I pressed snooze. Not too much to my surprise my brother was at the door shortly later. " Brooklyn you're going to be late!" his voice muffled through the pounding. I groaned and rolled out of bed.
After getting ready, which may I add was very simple do to my lack of caring. My appearance didn't make much of a difference now that he was gone. I made my way to the dining room. " my girl is a senior today!" My mom said hugging me and tearing up while doing so. "Yay" I sarcastically commented, grabbing my keys and kissing her and making my way toward the door.
The drive to school was full of hesitation and useless radio talk shows. But my anxiety heightened as I pull into the small parking lot of the school. Anxiety fills me as I see Aaron walking into the doors while I begin my walk toward the office to receive my schedule. "Brooklyn!" My friend Hannah yells, wrapping her arms around me tightly. "I missed you so much this summer, you were too busy with your boy!" She nudges me and winks.
Ouch.
Literal physical pain shoots through my chest at the thought of the events taken place in the past few months.
" yeah" along with a weak smile is all can manage while I turn into the hallway leading to the office.
To my non-existent luck. He is in the office waiting for his too. "Brooklyn Williams! How was your summer sweetie!" The secretary, Mrs. Rich asked me. Aaron's blue eyes pierce through me as he awaits my answer. "It was good ma'am, how was yours?" I politely ask. "Oh my, very busy, you know little daniel? He was just all over the place this summer.." She continues to go on. I really do care About her stories, but the overwhelming feeling of being in the same room as him is too much. " that sounds like fun! im glad you enjoyed yourself, may I have my schedule please?" I try to say in the nicest way possible. "Of course!" she says printing off the paper almost immediately. As I make my way to the door I can feel his eyes on me. "Looks like we have first period together" he says in a cheerful voice. " looks like it" I say quietly, walking in the direction of the history room.
