"Why are you so quiet?"
"Why don't you talk more?"
"Why are you so shy?"
"You need speak up more."
This happened to me when I was in the 8th grade and the beginning of my high school year.Every time I hear that.
I wanted to say something
But my heart begins beats faster, My throat feels tight, and I don't know what to say to that. All I can say was "I don't know" because I didn't understand why i'm quietThe words I wanted to say won't come out.
I get offended when people asked me "why are you so quiet?"I completely shut down and isolate myself just because I don't talk as much.
My classmates used to always pick on me because I was always quiet.
They even compared me to a serial killer. As I'm writing this right now, I realized that it's okay to be quiet and that's a strength. Being quiet makes me a good listener and a good hearted person. My counselors made me think that something was wrong with me But there's nothing wrong at all.
If you're a quiet person and going through the same thing as me, Remember you are not alone and you don't have to change yourself to be a talkative person. Be you.
The more you say less. The more you can hear.
