“Today we’ll meet the others, since you’re able to stand now,” Winter says.
“Others…?” I ask.
“They are the ones who helped free you.”
I was told by Winter what happened to me and why I ended up here. I was captured long ago by the Marvinian Empire, an empire ruled by Emperor Marvin. Although Winter says it is not very creative, it makes sense to me. Naming something after yourself just means you own it, right?
However, when I was captured, they used a machine that controlled my mind and used my strong magical power against those who went against the Empire. I apparently was on the newspaper and Winter and the others went and freed me.
They brought me to the country of Nigiro, which is surrounded by four larger countries. To the north lies the country of Ayemira, also known as the Marvinian country. It has the most “Marvinian influence”, as Winter has taught me, and is also the most powerful country “in terms of government”.
To the east is the country of Tiran, a land that is filled with many of the Earth’s plants. Winter did not tell me anything else about Tiran. Papour is to the south of Nigiro, where there are many villages and half of them are controlled by the Empire.
Papour is also known for the warriors that wield swords with techniques that can kill many people at the same time.
And finally, to the West is the country of Curodan. It is where the Empire strikes the most, for they are simple people and do not have much technology and is used primarily for growing livestock and crops.
“I have strong magic…?” I asked Winter a few days ago.
“Yes, very powerful elemental magic. Not everyone can use magic naturally. Those who can tend to be much stronger and more fluent than those who take a Pact such as myself.”
“What… are… ‘Pacts’?”
“They are an agreement of which someone who was infused with magic circulating within them from the moment they were born inscribes magic and, if they so desired, some of their techniques. They give the agreement to a person born without magic, usually with terms and conditions that have a high price, whether it be money or their life, and the magic will become part of them and they are free to use the acquired skills as long as it doesn’t go against the agreement on the Pact.”
I am Nicole, I have been rescued by this person that calls himself ‘Winter’ and his friends. I was being used by the Empire, but now am free. I have lost all memories and have no clue on who I am.
At the moment, we are walking slowly out of the room I have stayed in for days to meet the others.
As we walk out the room, I notice many things about the house. It is mostly empty and seems to be filled with nothing but a piano, as I am taught, and tables and chairs. There are other doors, but they are all closed. Upon the tables and chairs are more people. They must be the others. There are two boys and one girl sitting at the table and there seems to be a very old boy behind them carrying something that I have not been taught yet.
They turn their heads towards me as we walk into sight and the two boys stand up, with a weird look on their faces. One of them has their mouth wide open, but I do not know why this is so. The girl, however, stays seated and is sipping from a small cup. At least she does not look weird.
“WOAH,” the boy with his mouth wide open says very loudly. “SHE’S AWAKE NOW?”
The loud boy had a brown hair that was very messy and was spiking towards the back of his head. He reminds me of a lion because his hair looks like a lion’s mane. He wore a white shirt with a collar and a light brown vest over it. On his sides are two, thin-bladed swords along with two black L shaped objects. I wonder what they are.
