"Hey guys," I said as I dropped my lunch on the table and took a seat. My three best friends Madison, Elizabeth, and Alec waved at me while I sat down and we began filling each other in on our days so far. It was finally Friday and I couldn't wait to get out of school for the weekend. It's not that I hated school, because I really didn't. I just wanted to get away from all the drama of being a high schooler.
I was pulled from my thoughts of freedom when Maddie suddenly exclaimed "Can you guys believe that Parker Smith is moving?! The whole school is talking about it! Oh my gosh it's so crazy. People say that it's because his mom died."
"Aww I feel so sorry for him. It must be hard to lose a parent." Liz commented while putting her sandwich down on the table.
I was saddened to hear that Parker's mom has died, and although I couldn't relate to the feeling, I can imagine it must be hard for even the bad boy to lose a parent, even if I don't like him very much. I don't know Parker that well but I've heard that he is a rude, egotistical jerk who doesn't give a crap about anything or anyone. He always got what he wanted whether it was girls or someone to willingly do his homework for him. Ugh, people like that make me sick.
My friends and I kept chatting about random things for a few minutes until the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch.
My next class was math, which I had with Madison. As I took my seat next to Maddie, I heard laughter behind me. When I turned around, I saw Parker and his group of friends. They were (not surprisingly) telling perverted jokes and flirting with Mackenzie Evans, the school's head cheerleader. And by the looks of it, she was loving the attention they were giving her. They were being overly loud and obnoxious so after a minute of trying to concentrate on the book I was reading, I turned around and glared at them.
They were of course too busy flirting and laughing to notice my glare though so in a split second decision I tapped Parker on the shoulder.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you three but I couldn't help overhearing your delightful conversation. However, your conversation is distracting me from reading my book here... so can you please do me a small favor and SHUT YOUR FACES!? Some people have better things to do with their lives than flirt and be perverted. Thank you."
Okay maybe it wasn't wasn't very polite, but I am the victim here. After saying that, I now realize how stupid of me it was to interrupt them. What was I thinking picking a fight with the bad boy?
I'm pretty sure that Parker, Zach, and Mackenzie didn't like being told to shut up because if looks could kill, I would be dead. Thankfully, Mrs. Stanley walked into the room right at that moment saving me from having to embarrass myself further. I should've thought about the consequences of telling Parker to shut up before saying that. Gulp.
I quickly turned back around and took out my books, hoping that it would make Parker forget about the conversation we'd had 30 seconds ago. Unfortunately, I had no such luck.
As soon as Mrs. Stanley turned her back on us, Parker leaned forward and whispered in my ear, "Well well, if it isn't little Miss Charlotte Summers. Are you getting a little jealous of Mackenzie here? Aw sweetheart, you have nothing to worry about. It's okay to say that you want me. Everybody does, it's not your fault that I'm a human sex god. But just try to keep yourself tame sweetheart. Wouldn't want to get someone like you in trouble now, would we?."
Enraged, I whisper-shouted back. "How dare you say that?! Ugh I hate you you...... you meanie! You are just a self-centered, egotistical, conceited, jerk and I will never-"
Just then, Mrs. Stanley turned back around and saw me whispering at Parker.
"Mr. Smith and Miss Summers, I will not tolerate anyone interrupting my classroom, especially for shenanigans like this. PDA is against the rules here. I expect this from you Mr. Smith, but Miss Summers, I wouldn't expect this in a hundred years! What has gotten into you? After school detention for both of you until 5:00 this afternoon. Do you understand me?"
