Hailey wasn't your typical blonde high school girl. She was a brave person who stood up to the meanest gang in town, and helped anyone who needed it. Nobody messed with her because she would do it right back. Everyone knew to keep their distance . . . everyone except Patrick Hockstetter.
*Hailey's POV*
Today was another pleasant day of hell . . . aka school . I put together a nice outfit, but made sure it put out a stay back message. People made me just . . . sick. Who could blame me though? Derry was one of the worst places in the world. And I hoped soon I would get out of it.
Walking to the brick high school just a couple blocks away from my home, I could hear an abrupt roar that made the silence scatter like a school of fish. Just my luck I thought to myself. Turning around to see a raven haired boy hanging out of the car window like a rag-doll, I hurriedly looked around for a place to hide. Shit.
Running to an opening in a chain link fence nearby, I slid through the hole with ease.
"Thank god they didn't see you." a voice interrupts.
Spinning around I sees Beverly Marsh, holding all her books in her hands. Beverly was a strange girl, but I liked her attitude because it reminds me of my own.
"Hey Bev." I look around to see the bowers gang getting their asses handed to them by some new girl. "Holy shit . . .-"
"I know right!" Beverly interrupts. "Her name is Gray, and apparently she has lived here all along, but no ones ever noticed her."
Gray was dressed in the same style I was. Or- at least the style my clothing differs from every day. Her long brown hair hung in a braid- that Victor Criss tried to grab, but she kicked that skinny twig down- other than her black overalls, combat boots, and flat bread-smasher hat, the only thing that had a little color was the white long sleeved crop-top she had on.
"She's kicking their asses!" an obnoxious voice calls out. Ah yes . . . Richard Tozier. Also known as Trashmouth. His large framed glasses were falling off of his face, but he was too into this girl kicking the bullies that kick his ass, asses. Everyone around was watching, Gray was ruining Henry's "tough guy" reputation.
Once the whole gang was down I noticed something was off. Where the hell is long-legs?
And that's when long-legs snaky hands wrapped around my waist.
"Oh shit!" I scream, struggling to get out of his grasp.
"Hey there doll, nice outfit . . ." He looks me up and down. Dis cos tang.
And that's when his chiseled face got punched, letting my waist go in the process of him falling down.
I turn back around to see Gray standing over his body. She picks his wallet out of his pocket and hands it to me.
"Hide it really well." her voice sounds rough. She looks at me and I can see scars rippling over her face. Poor thing.
"I will." I smile at her and she smiles back. "I'm Hailey." I extend my hand and she takes it.
"Gray, nice to meet you."
I tilt my head. "How did you manage to get away with wearing a crop-top? My parents would kill me."
She chuckles. "My father doesn't care." She says father with a bitter tone.
She starts walking back towards bowers. Reaching into his back pocket, she pull out his knife and slips it into her pocket.
*Time skip because school sucks :)*
After the last of hell's bells has rung, I race from my last class to my locker. Finally. I empty the books from my locker into my backpack, and turn to race out of the door, but something stops me. I turn back around to see Gray at her locker, grabbing her coat.
