It had been several months since Audriana was introduced as Luna, and officially moved in with Draven and things couldn't be going any better. Audriana had taken over the dress shop and, was making a steady profit which Rosetta couldn't have been more happy. One morning when Audriana walked into the shop, she was immediately hit with a dizzy spell. Placing her hand on a table to sturdy herself, she tried shaking her head to clear the dizziness. Seeing this her assistant manager who was another wolf, rushed over to her. "Luna are you okay?" She asked while leading her to a seat, "how many times do I have to tell you Mavis. Just a call me Audri not Luna, and I'm fine I just got really dizzy for a second."
"Audri I know the signs and you have an odd scent, I think you may be pregnant." This caused Audri to look at Mavis as if she grew another head, "no I don't think so..." she said trailing off as she began to count when she last had a period, getting her answer she looked up at the smiling Mavis. Quickly running to the back, Mavis came back with a pregnancy test. Raising an eyebrow at the box Mavis shrugged, "you can never be too prepared." Deciding not to question her anymore Audriana, took the test to the bathroom and followed the instructions.
Stepping out she waited the three minutes, and when it was up both she and Mavis walked into the bathroom. It took her seconds to understand what she was looking at, "oh my goodness congratulations Audri." Gushed Mavis who hugged the stunned woman, "whoa wait how long do pregnancies last for us? Nine months? Longer or shorter?" Asked a freaking Audriana, which caused Mavis to crack up.
"Pregnancy is usually two and half months, give or take a day or two." Informed Mavis which caused Audriana to widen her eyes, "two and a half months?" She asked in shock which Mavis just smiled and shook her head yes. "Well yeah since we are technically wolves, we have the same gestation as them. Trust me the two months goes by quickly, although I will warn you Alpha Draven will be a whole lot more territorial. The further along you get which is super normal, my Kenny wouldn't even let my dad or brothers near me."
Face palming Audriana honestly didn't know what to think, because she's never seen Draven act possessive at all. Or even if he was ready for a kid, or would she consider the baby a pup? God she didn't know and now she had to, break the news to Draven but for some reason she was scared. Yet now she knew why she was gaining weight so quickly, grabbing her purse she began to make her way to the door. "Sorry to bail Mavis, but do you mind closing the shop and I promise I'll give you two days off with pay?"
Waving her off Mavis just smiled, "Audri you're my friend and my Luna. So of course I don't mind closing up, congratulations again." Thanking her Audriana left the store and made her way back home, on the drive there Audriana thought up ways to tell Draven. Pulling up to the house she saw, that he was outside chopping wood. Sitting in the car she just watched, as his muscles moved each time he raised the ax. Biting her lip she sat watching him for a bit, before he wiped his forehead with a rag he had in his back pocket. He smiled once he noticed her in the car, but instantly lost it when he also noticed she didn't leave the car.
She watched as he walked to the car, and opened the door quickly. Turning in her seat she looked up at him, with tears in her eyes which caused him to kneel down. "Audri are you okay?" Nodding her head she reached over and hugged him, "I'm pregnant." With her confession she felt when he stopped breathing, "for real?" Came his small reply all she could do was nod, Audriana let out a small laugh. As he picked her up and twirled her around, the uneasiness that was weighing her down was instantly gone.
That night they told Rosetta, who in turn burst into tears of joy. As she had thought she would have died, before Draven had given her a grandchild. Over the next few weeks Audriana began to prepare for the birth, she listened to all the advise Rosetta and the other elder pack women had to say.
When she started her second month, that was when complications began. Her blood pressure skyrocketed, causing major stress for her and the baby. Another thing that began to get on her nerves, was how possessive Draven had become. It was getting to the point, where she would threaten to move back to her cottage whenever he got over barring.
Yet now since Draven was off visiting, another pack a few hours away. Audriana missed his constant hovering, he had called her a few hours back just to check in. Yet now she was bored and missing him again, she was just about to start dinner. When there came a knock on the door, wiping her hands she waddled slowly to the door.
Opening it she was surprised to see such a large bouquet, being held by a delivery person. "Flowers for Audriana." Smiling Audriana took the flowers from him, "by any chance would you happen to know who they're from?" Shrugging the guy left in a rush, thinking he had to make another delivery. Audriana closed the door, and began smelling the flowers. Becoming giddy Audriana walked into the kitchen, to find a vase for the beautiful flowers.
Taking another deep breath of them, she suddenly became light headed. Reaching for the counter, Audriana missed and collapsed to the floor. While the flowers were scattered all over, the last thing she heard before passing out was the ring of her phone.
Draven had just finished up his meeting, when he tried phoning Audri. He frowned when it went to voicemail, trying a few more times and getting no answer. He began to worry so he called his mother, and asked if she could go check on Audri. Making it back to his room, Draven paced the length of the room. All the while becoming more and more worried, it was some time after when his phone began to ring.
Seeing that it was his mother, he quickly answered it but his questions died on the tip of his tongue. As he heard beeping noises in the background, "son. Draven you have to come home right now, Audriana is in the pack's hospital wing." The second he heard that, his eyesight began to blur around the edges. "What...... Happened?" Came his shaky voice, there was a small pause on Rosetta's end. "She was poisoned with wolfsbane laced flowers, she absorbed too much for her body to handle."
Breathing heavily Draven asked the one question, he knew he didn't want the answer to. "And the baby?" Another pause from his mother, made him weak in the knees. "Just come home, your mate needs you."
