CHAPTER THREE
SYMPATHY
I was sitting on a chair in the middle of the class, surrounded by a sea of rumors and questions.
"What happened?"
"Is it true?"
"Was Lena your girlfriend?"
"Why did Lena cheat you?"
"Why did you punch Mike?"
"I heard that Emily is Chris' girlfriend now."
"Hey did you hear about Chris and Mike?"
"That was one hell of a punch."
"Chris are you okay?"
"Chris is a loser."I was covering my ears and I shut my eyes. "Stay calm Chris...They'll soon stop." Emily said and touched my back. She was standing next to me like an angel who was trying to get me out of any possible trouble. I wanted to literally explode on everyone at that moment, but I was trying to stay calm for Emily.
"I hope so." I said while I was slowly opening my eyes. The whole school seemed like a jungle full of wild animals spreading rumors about me, Lena, Mike and Emily. Some people were very sorry for me, and some others were laughing at me. That classroom was like a burning hell at that moment, and my chair was the center of it.
"Everybody SHUT UP!" I suddenly heard Ms.Macks shouting. Everybody stopped talking, just like somebody pushed a mute button. She was standing at the door and she was looking at me angrily, while everyone kept looking at her scared.
"There is NO chemistry class for Chris Mathews and Mike Stews today! They are coming with me to the principal's office! " She shouted again, and looked at Mike. They were looking at me, waiting to see how I would react. I slowly stood up and took a deep breath:"Yes Ms.Macks." I said and slowly started walking to her. I had no choice, I just kept my head down and did what she said.
"Wait! I'm coming with you!" I suddenly heard Emily saying.
"Emily, you are staying here!" Ms.Macks said and looked at Emily. Mike quickly stood up and started walking to the door, too.
"I'm a part of this problem too, so I'm coming!"
"Don't you dare, young lady. I make the rules!" Ms.Macks replied to Emily angrily.
"I know more than you do, about this. So now PLEASE let me come!" Emily shouted to her. I know she was trying not to seem rude around Ms.Macks, but she couldn't help it...Ms.Macks is always the kind of person who wants to solve other people's problems without knowing anything about the whole situation.
"How dare you! Do you think that you can talk to me like that? I'll deal with this later, but first I have to deal with the awful behaviour of your friend."
"Excuse me? Who are YOU, to judge my friend about his behaviour? You don't know anything about this whole thing, and you never will!" Emily shouted to her with tons of anger and hate in her voice. She was maybe being to rude, but I was thankful to have someome like her rescuing me in a situation like this.
"That's it. Your behaviour is just as awful! You're coming with us. Get up!" Ms.Macks said, and started walking in the halls with us.
"I'm coming." Emily mouthed to me,while she was walking to the spot I was standing at.

It felt great walking into his office with someone by my side to support me. The last time I was invited here, was back in the 7th grade, because they thought that I bullied someone from our sport group about they way he played, which turned out to be a misunderstanding of Ms.Macks. Now I have the luck to have Ms.Macks as an English teacher in High School...
"Please, sit." The headteacher said to me, Emily and Mike, while he was looking at the screen of his laptop. They way the teachers ignore you by looking to something else instead of you, always pissed me off. It makes you feel like you don't exist.
